Avani quickly sunk back when she saw the angry monk. She grabbed her coat and followed after him, still thinking about her next assignment.
"Theres a waterbending technique thats kind of like that, but we can sort of surf across water.... so if I apply that to what i`ve learned already I might get some results..." She sped up her pace bringing her hands up then thrust them back. Avani didnt really notice a difference in her speed, though she did go a little bit faster. Now that she was under pressure it was a little harder to relax.

Ishimaru had hoped that Avani would have used air to get her flying into the air, but all she did was gain some speed. Sadly, the monk was still able to get to them, and he seemed a bit tiff.
"Did the two of you blast those cakes onto the heads of the monks up there?" He asked, pointing at the wall where the cakes were at.
"Yes, yes we did. I accept full responsibility for it. I had told Avani to aim for the cakes, hoping that her having a target would make it easier for Avani to learn airbending. I..." Ishimaru was about to apologize, but the monk interupted.
"No need to apologize. Its actually a common practice actually. Was a good laugh for us all. Just glad I didn't get hit." Was his response, frown growing into a bit of a giggling smile. Ishimaru was relieved, though a bit confused. Then again, he had heard that the airbenders of the past were known for joking around.

At first Avani felt bad, but when the monk laughed she began to laugh with him too.
"I`ll make sure I dont hit you next time."she laughed, "Thank you for being such good sports about it."
She bowed in respect, relived when they didnt get yelled at. But now she needed to focus on her next task. She tried the same thing she had done before, but it only propelled her a foot or so off the ground.

With them no longer under the threat of the angry (or not) monk, Ishimaru was able to relax and get back to helping Avani with her training. He watched her propel off the ground about a foot.
"Okay, not bad. But let's try to set a goal. Try to be able to jump high enough that you are level with the wall the cakes were on. Just remember one thing though. Hot air floats easier than cold air. So attempting to propel yourself with warmer air should help as it would naturally do so anyways. If my memory serves waterbenders can control the temperature of the water around there. Since air can have water in it, you should be able to heat it up."

"Alright that shouldnt be too hard to do." The first thing she did was heat up the water in the air. It began to feel warm around them, and it felt nice to her. After that simple task was done she began working on propelling herself up. Each time she got higher and higher and higher, then an awkward question crossed her mind.
"Uhh.. hey Ishimaru, can I ask you something?"

"Uh, sure Avani. Is something wrong?" Ishimaru asked, a bit surprised about her wanting to talk about something. Last time she was practicing a technique it was all she cared about. He really hoped nothing was wrong.

Avani felt really embearassed even before she asked the question. She scratched the back of her head, then continued with practicing.
"So uhh.. your okay with me.... umm."she almost couldnt bring herself to say it right away, it almost didnt feel like it was true, "... dating Garun right? Because somebody told me you might not be okay with that."
Her eyes scanned for Zhang, hoping that he didnt follow them because that would have been filled with awkward sauce.

Ishimaru raised an eyebrow at the question. It was not a question he was expecting, and admittedly it was a bit embarrising.
"Uh, well, no, not really. I don't mind if you're interested in him at all. Who told you that I would care?" He said, trying to get to the source of this.

Avani shrugged, not wanting to get Zhang into any trouble.
"Oh... nobody important."she told him and went back to practicing. After awhile she pretty much had this task down, and quite frankly to her it took longer than expected. She wasnt used to feeling nature and how the air moves, but she felt as if she was going to get used to it pretty quick.
"Wow.. i`ve got to be the worst Avatar ever... it takes me too long to figure all of this out..."

Ishimaru didn't press the issue, but he was going to keep an eye on the situation. He was going to figure out who told that eventually. Meanwhile, he just watched Avani's airbending practice.
"Actually Avani, you are moving pretty fast. Usually it takes airbenders a few days to learn what you are learning in a few hours. Besides, even Avatars take a lifetime to truly master their skills. Now then, why don't you take a break. One must not overwork themselves."

The young avatar nodded her head to his last comment. She did feel a little tired, however she almost felt as if she should have kept working. But he was probably right, she should take a break, for a at least a moment or two.
"Alright... but what is my next task? I want to give this one a little more thought before hand, so it doesnt take so long. I hate wasting your time."

"Uh, well, I really don't have an idea. But lets start with that break. Working too hard doesn't get you anywhere. Besides, I'm kind of hungry anyway."
With that Ishimaru started to wheelchair his way over to Mai.
"So then, why did you ask if I mind? I mean I know you said someone told you I'd mind, but why just bring it up all of a sudden?"

Avani glanced at him for a moment then away from him. She didnt really no how to answer the question actually. She did not know the answer herself. One could have guessed that she just didnt want him to be angry, or one could have said... no, it just didnt seem right.
"I... I dont know ... I just dont want you ... "she mumbbled, " To think im... getting distracted or anything."
In her heart she knew that that wasnt the correct answer, but she didnt know what else to say, nor what to do for that matter. Besides some things are best kept locked up inside.

Ishimaru heard her mumbled answer and suspected there was more to it than she was telling. He did not, however, want to annoy her by pressing the issue and so he decided to drop it.
"Whatever. Like you said, let's not get distracted. But first, let's get some lunch. Besides, I'm sure the others want to know how you are doing."

Avani nodded in agreement, lunch however was the last thing on her mind but she would just have to let this one go for now. It really wasnt that important... She threw her coat over one shoulder so it didnt drag on the ground and slowly walked beside Ishimaru`s wheel chair. She didnt say a word, mainly because she didnt have anything to say.
And if that wasnt already awkward enough for the two of them, Zhang just seemed to appear out of nowhere (to Avani at least, she wasnt paying attention).
"Hehe I saw you two messing with the monks earlier, how much trouble are ya in?"
