It had been quite some time since he had been assigned to a mission, so the village elders decided to put him on a mission along side of Akane. Masaaki scratched the back of his head then crossed his arms. The mission was to find some missing doctors, which shouldnt be too hard, then again everything seemed to go wrong when ever he thought that way. Where was Akane? Did she get the message to meet him here? Masaaki adjusted the mask over his face, now he was just plain bored.

Akane didn't want to take the mission, but eventually she decided that it would be a good way to get the events of the Chuunin Exam out of her mind. Besides, she could use the money to pay off the room she was staying in. The Uchihas had offered to house her, but she didn't want to face them right now.
Eventually she arrived at Masaaki, surprised to find that she was going on this mission with an ANBU member.
"So, did you lose a bet or something? Why would they send me to work with an ANBU member, or is there more to this mission than some missing doctors?"

Masaaki ran a hand through his spiky navy blue hair. The mask was beginning to feel a little uncomfortable, but he wasnt allowed to until he was home and the mission was over. When she finally got there he refolded his arms across his chest.
"Master Yuuto recommended me for the mission since I am new to the Anbu." He told Akane, "Sorry if I am not up to your standards, but unfortunately I will be your mission leader for the time."

"That wasn't what I meant at all. I was just surprised I was being teamed up with an ANBU member. They're supposed to be the best of the best, and this seems to me a relatively small mission. Speaking of that, I guess we better get started. We should probably visit the areas where they were taken and ask around for any clues."
Akane wasn't wearing her mask, and had was back to wearing her old clothing, though she had taken the cloak off. It was more comfortable, and the cloak could get in the way during a battle.

Masaaki unfolded his arms and cracked his knuckles before nodding his head. He was probably the most talkative ANBU alive, but he didnt really feel like an Anbu since he had only been one for a short time now.
"Right, lets head to the hospital and ask around there."

With that Akane started to head towards the hospital, following directions she had made for herself after looking a map at the village. She didn't worry about speed or anything like that, because she assumed that Masaaki would be able to keep up. As she went, she started to think up reasons why someone would want to kidnap doctors. The most obvious was someone needed there skills for something, but what was something she didn't know.

Masaaki easily kept pace with her, he ran along side of her with his hands anchored in his pockets. He didnt have too much information on this mission, only what Yuuto had told him. It didnt take them very long to get to the hospital, which was good he didnt want to make this mission any longer than it had to be.
"Any theories?"

"Probably someone wanting to use their talents for something. Either for curing a disease, or possibly creating one. Sadly, all we know is that the person is kidnapping doctors. I don't even know if there are any connections between them. Hopefully the people around here can help."
Akane headed into the hospital and flagged down the nearest nurse.
"Excuse me, but the council has sent us to investigate the doctors disappearances. Is there anything that you could tell us that would help?"
"Oh, sure there is. Follow me and I can give you the records of the people kidnapped. That should hopefully give you something to work with."

Masaaki followed Akane, he was going to let her do most of the talking and observe since she was probably more knowledgeable than she was. This was a last minute mission for him. He followed Akane and the nurse down the hallway to get the records of the missing doctors.
"What else can you tell us? Any suspicious characters?"

The nurse shook her head as she started to open up an office door. Walking into the room, they were all greeted by the sight of filing cabinet after filing cabinet.
"No, no one's reported anyone suspicious. The people would leave for the night, and then never show up the next day. Though there is one thing that we thought strange. Every doctor taken dealt with the heart. At first we thought it a coincidence, but we all agree now that whoever is taken them is really concerned with hearts for some reason."
She started heading over to drawers, scanning through them and occassionally pulling them out.

Doctors that dealt with hearts? Hmm, that was something he wasnt expecting to hear. Masaaki carefully scanned the title of each document the nurse pulled out, seeing if there was more of a connection. But nothing came to mind at first.
"Have there been any patients that had heart conditions that were denied recently?"

"No, I don't believe so. I work in the injuries ward, so I wouldn't know about any patients related to heart injuries. But since we're non-profit, we wouldn't reject anyone." The nurse replied.
"But that also means you don't have the best equipment available, so whoever took them may have the ability to get the needed equipment for whatever they are up to. Thanks for the help by the way." Akane said as she dismissed the nurse, who proceeded to leave the two of them alone.
"So now what? Find a heart doctor, follow him, and hope he gets kidnapped?" She suggested, turning to face Masaaki. She stretched her arms a little before placing them behind her head. So far this was an odd but not particularly exciting mission.

Masaaki thought about it for a moment, the mask was starting to annoy him. He was on the verge of taking it off. The mission was starting to become boring, and at the moment following after some guy that got kidnapped seemed kind of fun.
"I Guess so, unless there are any other ideas." He reached behind his head and untied the mask from around his face. Yuuto had told him not to take it off since he was an Anbu, but he was never one to follow the rules. Again he ran a hand through his dark blue raven like hair. He raised an eyebrow as he looked at Akane, he had bright blue eyes. Masaaki grinned.

"Alright then, let's find ourselves a canidate." Akane said as she started shuffling through the files of heart doctors. She ignored Masaaki's taking off his mask because of this, so when she turned around with a folder she was pleasantly surprised.
"I thought ANBU weren't supposed to take their mask off?" She said before handing him the file. Inside was a profile of a man named Kago Hatsuharu. He was a diagnostic expert that specialized in heart diseases. He was highly qualified, and the fact that he wasn't kidnapped yet was odd, though such a big name would have drawn more attention.
"So then, I think we got ourselves our bait. Now we just find him and we're good."

Masaaki read through the file, he would do nicely as their bait. When he heard Akane talk about his mask he shrugged. He didnt really care, but he`d most likely get in trouble for it later.
"Im the newbie on the force, and besides I dont follow the rules." He replied keeping his eyes on the file, "The only reason we wear those masks is to hide who we are. I dont care if others know who I am, let the assassins come, Ill take down each and every one of them."
He scratched the side of his face, on each of his cheeks was a set of three claw like marks. Remembering those almost made him put the mask back on but at this point it was a little too late for that.
"Right, I`d assume he`d be on duty so hes probably around here somewhere."
