Garun and Hino had been walking behind the rest. Hino had been his usual quiet self just looking around with his eyes looking for any danger.
Garun on the other hand walked up to Akane and asked "So are you ok? Do you need a drink or anything" He asked trying to be polite to the girl.

Akane looked over at Garun, surprised to find that for once Mai or Hojo wasn't talking to her. She shook her head and politely said "No, I'm fine right now."

Mai had shut her mouth after Akane had sort of blown up on her. If she could become a nina why wouldnt she want to develop her skills? What did she have to hide from anyways, its not like she was being hunted or anything. Mai didnt know it but the Akatsuki was looking for her all the time because of what she was. This kid was lucky she didnt have to run from a bunch of power freaks.
She crossed her arms and kept her head low, she hated it when people yelled at her. It made her feel so small inside, and she hated it. She kicked a rock around the trail to try keep her mind off Akane yelling at her.
'Maybe if she knew what I was, maybe she wouldnt yell at me anymore... She would probably freak out and request another escort. Then the team would hate me...'

Looking over at Mai Hojo was a bit worried about her. She seemed irritated about something, possibly Akane getting angry with her. Hojo rolled his eyes at him, seeing as it wasn't that big of a deal. He had dealt with much worse fits of anger, sometimes ending up with somebody dead. Still, it would be best to just let her deal with it herself.
A small rustling in the bushes made Hojo turn his attention, but it was just a squirrel, though it looked scared to death about something before it made a run for it.
"Every one, get down." Not waiting for them to do it themselves, he pushed Akane and everyone else down to the ground just in time for a giant claw to zoom over their heads and hit the nearby tree, leaving a giant hole in it.
Getting back up, Hojo tensed up for battle before giving out orders to everyone.
"Garun, Hino, Mai, protect Akane. But pay attention, by the look of that tree there may be poison in that claw."
A simple bandit couldn't get that sort of equipment, so there must be a shinobi nearby. Akane has some explaining to do.

Mai perked up when she heard the warning, she quickly got closer to Akane and kept a careful eye on everything. The uchiha was tense, mainly from before when she was still sulking over getting yelled at. Even though this wasnt good, she was glad there was finally going to be some action. Mai reached for her kunai pouch and grabbed one just to be safe.

Akane was scared, to say the least. She was currently cowering in the center of the group. She didn't know how they had found her, but she knew that the rest of these people were in danger because of her.
Please, just leave me alone. Why won't they leave me alone
Meanwhile, Hojo kept an eye out for the enemy ninja. The claw had retracted back into the forest, but he knew that the ninja had probably moved already. Wherever he was he had to be quick to respond. A small whizzing noise gave him a hint, and with a highly timed kick he sent another claw straight into the ground where it got stuck.
"Gotcha, now show yourself."
Hojo was met with another claw being shot at him, and this time he had to dodge while moving the others out of the way.
How many claws does this shinobi have?

Garun and Hino had hit the ground before returning to protectin Akane. "Be careful.. who knows where they are" Huino said to them all

"I'm right here." A voice from the woods said as two pairs of claws headed straight at the two boys. Hojo came in with a quick kick to get them away from him. As they hit the ground the body behind the voice came with them. The man was heavily cloaked in a purple clothing set, though one could see the Mist Village Headband on them.
Before the guy got a chance to get up Hojo had rushed over and slammed his leg into his back, effectively keeping him down.
"Now then, tell us what exactly is going on here?" He asked in a serious tone.
"I'm just completing a mission for the Mist Village. I was sent to track down and capture that girl Akane. I don't know why, and that is true."
"Well, we'll get another team to get you sent back to the Mist Village. And Akane." He said without looking at her, "You have some explaining to do."

Garun and Hino watched as hojo knocked the claws away. Hino then put his hands together and shouted "Byakugan" as his eyes went white. Garun pulled out two kunai and had them ready to attack though it seemed as Hojo had already took one out and the other one didnt seem to attack so until he was Garun stayed prepared.

Mai stood quietly, her eyes turned red. If Hino was going to show off his eyes, she was going to do the same.
"Sharingan."she whispered. The Uchiha stood loosly, but still prepared for a fight.

"You guys can calm down, there was only one attacker, right?" Hojo said, asking the ninja he had taken out. The guy just nodded a yes.
"Now then, Akane, explain what just happened here. You do understand that since shinobi were sent after us that just raised the mission rank to far above one these three are allowed to be on. Why didn't you tell us about the shinobi?" Hojo had a pretty stern face on when he spoke.
"Well, you see, I didn't have enough money to pay for a higher ranked mission. I'm sorry if I put you all in danger like that." She said, looking as if she was about to break down.
Hojo saw that, and so he loosened up and stopped asking questions. While he was still a bit ticked off, it was understandable, and it wasn't the first time something like that happened. Still, he couldn't bring three genin on a mission like this, unless they were willing too.
"All right. Mai, Hino, and Garun, do you three want to continue on with this mission knowing full well that there may be another shinobi attack. This guy was relatively weak, but now that he is gone there may be stronger shinobi. If you proceed, you may die. Are you willing to take that risk?"

"Well If I dont, I`ll never become Hokage!"Mai said putt his hands on her hips, her eyes turned blue again, "No freaky ninja can stop me from finishing. But if Hino and Garun want to turn back then ... ehhh I guess I`ll be forced to go too."
