Mai looked up at him with big innocent eyes, he seemed like such a nice guy but that was probably just a part of his plan. She tilted her head to the side a little bit then glanced up at him, giving him a bit of a side glance. Where were the rest of the bandits? She already felt as if too much time had passed, and the exams were just around the corner.
"Your not going to hurt me are you Douke?" Asked Mai, she took a couple of steps back as if she was afraid. She didnt know how much longer she could play the innocent little girl, it was terrible. Her eyes buzzed to each bush and tree, seeing if she could spot any of the bandits. Using her Sharingan was tempting, but she didnt want to give away that she was a ninja just yet.

"Of course not. Douke-san is a pacifist. I don't like to fight very much at all outside of defense. I have some friends who should be able to help. HEY SENPAI!!!" Douke yelled, bring the attention of Jing and them. Jin nodded, and walked out of the bushes as if they had been looking for Douke.
"What is it Douke?" Jing asked, eyes glancing at Mai.
"I found this girl. She's lost and looking for her dad. Why don't we help her?" Douke asked excitedly, pointing at her rapidly. While Mai thought he was playing a role, he was acting just like he would do if she really was a lost girl. The bandit with the swords walked over to her and crouched down, giving her a quick look over.
"Hmm, she really is a Uchiha girl. Well then," he stood up and motioned for the other armed bandit to come over, "I believe we should take her home."
Before anything happened, however, explosions rocked the field. The two of them were caught, and while they weren't killed, they were hit pretty bad. Still, they grabbed there weapons and prepared for a fight. But all the smoke made it hard to see what was going on.

"Alright Inoko, the other bandits are out and in range. Activate the jutsu...now." Hojo ordered. Inoko sent a blast of chakra through the flowers, sending them off in a series of explosions. Within seconds dust and dirt created a screen cover for Hojo and Mai to take down the two armed bandit. The sickle-wielder was taken down with a Dynamic Entry attack, and May was given the time to take the sword wielder.
Meanwhile, Shikaniku moved to capture the one bandit who wasn't in the field; Jing. He had stayed back, and he was glad he did. His minions were now in the explosion, which meant that ninja were nearby. He mentally berated himself for getting caught in an obvious trap, and started glancing around for signs of movement. He saw Hojo take down one guy, and just barely noticed the Shadow Imitation technique.
"Nice try ninja, but it'll take more than that to beat me." He said before taking aim at Mai with his chakra launcher. A blast of chakra was sent straight at the girl.

Mai frowned when they kept calling her a little girl. She hated it, so when the other bandits appeared and began to advance on her she quickly grabbed her chakra knives and put on her headband. Now that they knew they were ninja, there was no need to hide it from them. Chakra poured through the blades and extended them. If she was going to fight a swordsmen, then she was going to do her best to do the same. Her sharingan flooded her eyes then she noticed the chakra blast come at her. Mai grinned though, when she dodged the blast she went back to her original opponent.
She slashed her long chakra blades at the sword wielding ninja, she aimed low so she could get him down quickly then take him out.
"Well luckily for you bozos my father isnt here. But you`ve got even more problems to deal with now, me!"

The swordsmen was too distracted by the dust,dirt, and falling comrade to really pay attention to Mai. By the time he did, it was too late. He tried to get to his swords in time, but failed. At that point he decided to stay down. There just wasn't enough money in the world to pay him to get himself killed.
Douke, meanwhile, was just trying to figure out what was going on. Where did the exploding flowers come from (he wanted some)? Who was this girl? Where were his teammates? Eventually he just broke down, and with a quick swipe sent out a breeze that sent the dust flying away. It wast then that he saw Jing aiming another chakra blast at Mai, and his two 'friends' down and out.
"What is Jing-san doing? Jing-san said that he wouldn't hurt kid. Did Jing-san lie to Douke?" He asked, eye tilting to the side. He was really confused.
"This girl isn't some helpless little girl. Apparently she's a shinobi, and just took out your two friends. I order you to help me take her and her companions out. They're over in the trees. One of thems a Nara, and the other must have been the one behind the flowers. Leave the girl and the man to me."
Hojo got into an Iron Fist stance, and Shikaniku and Inoko braced themselves for battle. Douke, however, had other ideas.
"Do you want me to kill them Jing-san?" He asked. The bandit leader just sighed and added a "Yes" to it.
"But Douke doesn't kill Jing-san, especially not children..." He said. Jing's face showed anger, and he yelled at Douke to just follow orders. Douke, however, just couldn't. Even in all this time in the bandit group he tried to remain to his pacifism as much as possible. He never killed victims, and always found a way to let them escape if he could. But he couldn't do that now. He either had to obey...or revolt.
Jing, frustrated, just began to blast chakra at Mai, but they never reacher their target. Instead, they were sent skyward by a blast of air...from Douke.
"Douke does not kill children Jing-san. I cannot follow you anymore."

The chakra retracted back into the blades for a moment once the bandit she took on was down. She glanced up to see Douke deflect the chakra blasts. The sharingan`s tamoe still circled her pupils as she read their movements, so Douke was a ninja too? That was a bit of a shocker actually, but then again the world was full of surprises. Douke didnt seem like the type of person who would kill anybody, so she decided that if he wouldnt she would. Mai quickly appeared next to Douke.
"Im not quite ready to die yet actually. But thanks for the offer." She hissed at Jing, the chakra extended from the blades again, "Hojo sensei, are we supposed to bring this guy back to Konoha alive, or should we kill him?"

Douke popped up when he hear her mention taking him alive. He wasn't allowed to kill, but that didn't mean he couldn't fight. Besides, he was protecting someone afterall.
"Let me take care of Jing. It's the least I can do after hurting people all these years." He said. Jing just started laughing at him.
"Douke, I'm touched that you're willing to risk yourself to protect these strangers. But I think it's time you told them what you are really up to."
Jing had expected this to be some act on Douke's part, but Douke didn't budge. Jing's grin disappeared as he realized that the guy wasn't acting. He really did join the other side, though this really didn't surprise him. Douke was never really much of a bandit anyways. Always let the victims go, and never tried to kill them. Seems he was just too much trouble to keep around.
"All right then, if that's the way you want it, I'll have to eliminate you as well Dou...ke?"
Jing had tried to move his arms to prepare a shot, but he found himself unable to move. What was going on...crap. The Shadow Imitation technique. He had forgotten about the Nara kid, who was probably right behind him. How stupid was he anyways? He was better than this.
"Douske, you will pay for this." He grumbled. Douske just shook his head, and rushed forward. His feet had a current of chakra around it as he moved almost as fast as Hojo could normally. Shikaniku saw what was going to happen, and quickly retracted his shadow. A second later, Jing was knocked out cold.
For a moment Douke looked rather ominous over Jing's body, but a second later he turned around and gave Mai and Hojo a thumbs up.
"He is out cold, uhm, what should Douke-san call you?"

Mai watched all of this happen in what seemed like a fraction of a second. She wished that she could move that fast, she could... but only with the assistance of the kyuubi. Still she wasnt exactly slow either, Mai shook the thoughts from her mind for the moment. Then she realized that Douke had actually saved her, Mai was too busy slicing and dicing the other guy and while her back was turned Jing shot some chakra at her.
It was one of the easiest missions she had ever been on, but strangely she was glad it was finally over. Mai let out a sigh as she watched Douke take down Jing, but didnt do any serious damage.
"We havent been properly introduced yet, I`m Mai Uchiha. And ... umm... thanks for the assistance." The Uchiha held out her hand to him and put on a friendly smile.

Douke didn't return her handshake. Instead, he grabbed her in a massive hug.
"Nice to meet you Mai-chan!" He said with a level of excitement that made even Hojo impressed. Inoko and Shikaniku, however, groaned. Apparently there was no way they could escape the hyperactive ninjas of the world. First Hojo, then Mai, and now this guy. Could they ever win.
"Well, hopefully it won't be too bad Shikaniku. He does seem to be a decent guy." Inoko said, trying to brighten things up.
"I don't doubt that, but he seems to be a little...odd." Shikaniku replied. Their talking brought about the attention of Douke, who quickly ran over to give them introductory hugs as well. Soon all the Genin were acquanted, with Inoko and Shikaniku having some minor back pains as well. All that was left was for Hojo to introduce himself.
"I'm Mikamoto Hojo, Jounin. These are my Genin students. I'll admit your speed was impressive. It's on par on what I can do with my weights on. Hope you don't mind me asking, but did you have any ninja training as a kid?"
"Oh, yes. Douke was originally from Hidden Cloud, but was taken by the bandits when I was young. I kept practicing my jutsu though, and as you can see I am very good at it. But I couldn't really progress working for them though. And seeing all of you, I was wondering if I could join you?"
Hojo smiled, and grabbed Douke in his own hug.
"Of course you can. The Leaf Village is happy to accept anyone wishing to reach their full potential. And under my tutelage,"Inoko and Shikaniku gave Mai a 'here he goes again' look," You will become one of the great ninja of your generation." Hojo ended his statement with a triumphant pose, with his hand out and pointing towards the sun for symbolic reason. Douke, in the heat of the moment, copied it.
"Douke-san, Master Ninja. I like the sound of that." He said before he began dancing in joy. Inoko and Shikaniku sweatdropped in response.

Mai laughed when he hugged her, more enthusiastic ninja was just what they needed. But a five man team probably would fly with the council, still it didnt mean that he couldnt train with them. He`d be a great training partner, maybe he could help her improve her speed so she could have even more of a one up on Akane. Mai grinned at the thought and hugged him back with just as much enthusiasm. She already liked Douke, probably because he didnt know that she was a monster yet.
She turned to Shikaniku when he mentioned the word odd and wondered if he thought she was odd too. It didnt really matter all that much to her, so she turned back to the other two.
"Shall we get back to Konoha so we can train some more?"

"Actually, we need to get back so you all can rest up. We're heading to the Chuunin Exams soon enough. I'll try and make arrangements for Douke here to join us." Hojo replied, leading to Douke continuing to dance.
Inoko and Shikaniku had known that the Chuunin Exams we're coming soon. However, they didn't know that they had arrived. At least they had some time to prepare themselves for it. But with Mai as the competition, things could possibly end up being rough.

Mai felt a surge of excitement swell inside of her, she could finally become a chuunin. Maybe then Shikaniku would have a little more respect for people like her, that was her ultimate goal after all.
"Well what are we waiting for?! Lets go!!!" Mai sped off, she knew the way home.
