Even though before she gave Akane the option, she quickly changed her mind.
"No no no... you cant. I`ll train you, we can learn to control these demons together."She said quickly, "Your... your my friend. They cant take you from this village unless they kill me first."

"Sorry Mai, but I think this is for the best. I don't want you all getting hurt just trying to defend me from either them or the Mist Village, if they found out. And I just don't want to deal with the people of this village if they found out either."
Akane stood up from the bench and started slowly walking towards them. She glanced back at Mai with a sad look before standing next to Ishimaru.
"Well then Mai, it seems that Akane has made her decision. Now then, I suggest you do not try and follow us. And as a precaution I would like to give you a glimpse of your fate should you do so."
With a quick series of hand movements he began creating an illusion before Mai's eyes. It presented himself about to land a killing blow on her. This was the Death Foreseeing Technique, a personal favorite of his. The mental anguish it would create would definantly hold her back.

"Akane!"
Mai watched them disappear but attempted to run after them. She felt like she was running in place and going nowhere. The Uchiha stopped suddenly. When he stabbed her, it looked and felt so real even though it wasnt. She collapsed to her knees, and cringed. A thought suddenly struck her... This was probably the same way Naruto died. A quick stab.
She just lie there not sure if this was fake, or was it her real death?

Ishimaru just watched as Mai stopped in her tracks, collapsing on the ground. Without batting an eye he turned and looked at Yamata.
"Well then, unless there is something else of interest you have to deal with around here we need to be going. This little incident won't be unnoticed for long, especially with Mai stuck in that illusion."

Yamata kept his hands in his pockets, shrugged, and followed, "So whens she gunna snap outta that?"
He glanced back at the collapsed girl with an eye brow raised, he was no expert at Genjutsu nor did he care to be.
"I still think the Uchiha would be more usefull then this worthless traitor mist monster. Shes a two in one, Sharingan and the most powerful of the beasts."He stated, looking at Akane wondering how she would react. His insult was a test mainly to see her nature. "Besides if shes anything like her great uncle or grandfather, shes practically got a guarantee slapped on her forehead."

"Yamata, Yamata, Yamata. Clearly you fail to see the big picture here. Do you think I do not know all of that and that instead I am some moron who fails to understand something inherent worth?" Ishimaru said with a tone of condenscening.
"Everything you said is true, but you forget one crucial thing; Mai is the successor to Naruto in terms of the Kyuubi, and she is a stubborn brat. Between those two things taking her now would just result in more trouble than it is worth. But don't worry, in due time she will be turned to our side one way or another."
Akane just stood there watching as Mai suffered, wanting to do something and yet knew she couldn't. She was starting to doubt her decision, but there was no turning back now without getting her in that situation, or worst. Sick of the scene she turned her back to Mai, some drops of tears hitting the ground.
"I'm sorry May." She whispered.

"You just condemned your only friend to pain and suffering, how do you feel?"Yamata asked with a grin keeping his eyes on Akane. Then he turned to Ishimaru, "Wouldnt starting early save us a lot of trouble?"

"Yamata, we've done enough already for today. Besides, if we take her now the entire Leaf Village will be after us. And I don't think even we could handle that many ninja at once. No, we'll wait. Trust me. I have this planned out further than you think. Now then, let's move."
Ishimaru vanished from sight, with Akane reluctantly following suite.

Yamata didnt say another word and disappeared after them. Surprisingly he was curious to see how this mist ninja would turn out after her training. Maybe she would be to weak and he could just kill her or something, Yamata had not killed anyone in a few weeks.
Hiroshi let out a sigh as he walked around the village, he hadnt seen Mai all day. It was then he realized he was pretty dependent on her company, maybe Hino was right, maybe they werent just friends anymore... When he glanced up from the road he saw Mai laying there pretty much lifeless.
"Mai?!"Hiroshi ran as fast as he could and slid right next to her, he knelt down and shook her softly. She didnt respond, but she was still breathing. Carefully but as quickly as he could, he picked her up and tried to remember the closest route to the hospital. When he remembered he took off again.
He stopped in front of the hospital and kicked open the doors. He went to the closest medical ninja.
"You gotta help her! Please!"He squeaked still holding Mai in his arms. "I dont know what happened but she must have gotten hurt or something."

At the local hospital a medical ninja was just about to head home for the night when Hiroshi came running in with Mai. At first he was going to just hand him off to another medic when he realized who was the injured one; the container of the Kyuubi.
"I'll get a team right on it." The medic ninja quickly sent a message out, and while they prepared a room he began investigating her.
"Hmm, doesn't look like there was any physical damage. It may have been a genjutsu. Young man, did you see anyone else where you found her?"

"No."Hiroshi said, his voice rather shaky, "I.. I just found her all alone."
He was very fidgety when another thought crossed his mind. Her father was going to kill him for not watching out for her. He knew he shouldnt have let Garun hang out with her alone... But he was more concerned about Mai`s safety.
"So shes going to be okay?"

Medic let out a heavy breath. He couldn't really help out much if they didn't know who did it. By this time the room was prepared for her, and so he rushed Heroshi towards it, eventually assisting in putting Mai onto the bed.
"Well, I don't know. Depending on the Genjutsu it can be very bad. It must have taken her by surprise though. Normally a Sharingan user can reflect a Genjutsu back on the user. The best we can do is wait and see."

"Baadddd?"He asked crossing his arms tightly across his chest. "How bad is bad? I thought genjutsu were just illusions... can it .. ki..ll her?"
Hiroshi stared at Mai helplessly, he wished there was something he could do to help. But he was no medical ninja.

"Yes, genjutsu are just illusions. However, a very skilled user of genjutsu can create an illusion so realistic that it can cause a massive mental strain on the victim. This mental strain could possibly kill someone if it was bad enough, but at the moment it just looks as if she is just very scared and very stressed out."

Mai just sat there curled up on the bed. Her eyes were wide. Hiroshi slowly approached her and stroked her hair. She cringed and looked at him.
"Hi...rrr...oshi? Are youu..uu dead too...ooo?"she asked, her voice high and squeaky.
"Nono, your fine Mai. Just get some sleep."he told her kneeling down so he was closer to her, he turned to the medical ninja, "Can you contact Daisuke Uchiha by any chance? Thats her father and Im sure he wants to hear about this."
