Akane headed out of the building, and thought for a moment about heading towards the funeral. However, her thoughts were interupted by her sighting a man who had a recent puff of smoke near his head. That meant only one thing; he had a summon dissapate.
"I guess your Yuuto? What, her to try and cheer me up or something? Your toad already tried if that matters at all."

Yuuto raised an eyebrow to her comment then grinned. The man shook his head.
"Nope, I was going to tell you to stop your pathetic moping around and get your butt into gear. You`ve got a friend to avenge, and you cant do it by sulking."

Akane had to scoff a bit when he mentioned 'avenge'. Sure, she wanted to take Ishimaru down, but that didn't mean she had to have it drive her entire life. The Leaf Village should have had plenty of experience with vengence.
"So what do you want me to do then? Become obsessed with tracking down Ishimaru, making it my life goal to kill him? Look, why don't you just leave me alone and let me deal with this on my own time. I mean come on, this village is still greaving over Naruto's death, and I don't see anyone telling them to stop their 'pathetic moping.'"

"I dont expect you to chase after him now or make it your life goal. I expect you to keep training as hard as you can and one day you can take him down."Yuuto told her. The subject of Naruto somewhat hit a sore spot. Naruto was his mentor and most importantly his best friend. Yuuto turned away from Akane when tears began to roll down his eyes. "You dont have to stop greaving, but you cant let it halt your life either. You are the ninja of tomorrow, you are the one who can make a difference. But most importantly Mai doesnt want you to forget her."

"Trust me, she's hard to forget. I plan on taking Ishimaru down for both what he did to Mai and for my own sake. Life with them wasn't easy, and eventually I realized that all of them are crazy. I would have ran off on my own if I didn't already know they could take me down easy. That was why I waited till the exams to take my chance. Just wish I knew about the bombs..." Akane's voice trailed off on the end, small tears forming around her eyes.
"Anyway, I think I should probably head off to the funeral just for some lasts respects. Just hope the ANBU doesn't get me before then. If I spent a month with the Akatsuki I'm sure they'll want to interrogate me."

Yuuto turned back towards her and whipped the tears from his eyes with a sleeve. He grinned and looked as if he was going to laugh. The old man let out a sigh and glanced back at her.
"Sorry.. just thinking about old memories."he chuckled, as he reached for the necklace Naruto had given him, "Last respect eh? Hmm..."
And with that Yuuto turned into a puff of smoke and disappeared. Back at the funeral Daisuke and Hiroshi stood there bawling their heads off. A young man dressed in Anbu clothing, including a striped cat like mask stood behind the small grave marker. He had his arms crossed but nothing else could be told from his body language. What could he want?

Akane headed off through the town, heading straight towards the funeral sight. As she did she tried to get the odd man out of her head. She was going to deal with this her way in her own time. The only thing she was concerned with right now was getting everyone off her back. It was hard to get over something when everyone is nagging you about it.
As she approached the funeral sight she noticed an ANBU Black Ops. Her worst fears were probably about to occur. Whether it was interregation or possible execution, his presence was not a good sign. She hid in the shadows, not wanting to risk being seen by him. She kind of wished that one of the others would see her, and hopefully she could get them to chase him away.

The Anbu looked up at her but you couldnt tell what he was thinking because of the cat like mask over his face. It was a cold hard stare, but Yuuto soon appeared next to him and whispered something to him. The Anbu nodded. Hiroshi stood there, he couldnt believe that Mai had died just about a month ago. Tears streamed down his face as he and Daisuke left the funeral. Yuuto left as well, leaving the Anbu and Akane there.
The Anbu had no intentions on doing anything, he was just paying his last respects to a girl he knew all too well. He slowly approached Akane.
"Arent you going to do anything?"

"Wait, you're not going to try and interregate me or anything?" Akane asked with surprise. She knew the ANBU were tough and dedicated. The fact they weren't interested in her was suspicious.
"Anyway, I just came to say goodebye...and to apologize to Mai. I did some really bad things to her, and I just kept making up exscuses to cover my own cowardice. I still feel like this is all my fault." Akane said, starting to tear up a little as she went on.

The Anbu shook his head, he wasnt interested in interregating her at all. He wasnt there for that, he had other reasons.
"Im not like the other Anbu, besides it isnt my job. Heh, im hardly an Anbu actually..." He told her after she had spoken. The Anbu ran a hand through is oddly spiked back hair. He crossed his arms, something Mai had done so much while she lived, "Goodbye? iiiiisnt that a... uhhh little soon? Besides I you did all you could I ffff.. I bet she`d forgive you. She was the fool for not listening to you, and giving into her rage."
He adjusted the large dark blue cloth he had wrapped around his waist a bit, then looked back up at her. If one looked hard enough you could see his light blue eyes hidden in the darkness of the mask.
"My name is Masaaki." He held out his hand, he wore some gloves that went about half way up each finger and he had somewhat long jagged fingernails.

Akane noticed that the man was acting very,very weird, even for an ANBU Black Ops member. He had some odd mannerisms, and kept going into first person when talking about Mai, though he corrected himself quickly. Besides, he knew things that weren't part of the official report, such as her and Mai's argument. Then again, the ANBU probably knew about everything that happened to the Leaf Village ninja.
"Sir, you are a very strange man. Heck, if I didn't know any better I'd think you were Mai in disguise or something."

Masaaki laughed and put his hand in his pocket. He was one of the head investigators on Mai Uchiha`s case. Therefor he had known the girl fairly well before she had died.
"HA! You wish! Its near impossible to bring people back from the dead. You should know that by now. And besides, I knew Mai pretty well before she died, kind of like a sister to me." He told her, adjusting the mask slightly. "pffft... never mind, just go say your goodbye or what ever. Im sure you have a mission you should be getting to .. or something."

"No, I don't have any missions." Akane said as she headed over to the casket, Mai's headband in hand.
She paused for a moment, looking over at the picture of Mai that was there. Her stomach was all in a knot from both a sense of guilt as well as nervousness. She placed the headband in front of the picture before she started speaking.
"I'm sorry I wasn't strong enough to resist them. I knew it was wrong to join them, but I just didn't believe there was another choice. I should have resisted them, I should have said no. Instead I left like a coward. And now you died because of that. I promise you I will not be a coward anymore."
With that done she started heading out of the cemetery, taking another quick glance at the strange ANBU member as she did.

Masaaki stood there motionless, and still watched her. He lifted a hand and waved when he saw that Akane was leaving. It would be best if he left as well. He had no further need to be there. Under the mask he grinned.
"Death is only the beginning." He said, " Good bye for now, Akane Yokoyama."
He made a hand sign and disappeared in a puff of smoke.
