Akane nervously sat waiting for Toshiro at the top of the Hokage Monument. She was wearing her new outfit, and was anxious to hear what Toshiro thought about it. It was a mix of that Hinata and Sakura girl that Toshiro had talked about. She had bought a dark-red sleeveless shirt, since Toshiro mentioned more earthy colors would be good (did dark red count as that?). She had also bought a dark-tan skirt that was, at the moment, going to right above her knees, though if she were standing they would reach them. Underneath, though, she was wearing some black shorts. Add in the black, toeless boots and some fingerless gloves, and she looked kind of close to the description she was given of Sakura.
Of course, she had also bought a coat for when she was using her ice jutsu. It was a reddish color in the torso area, but tan for the arms and shoulders. It wasn't a large coat, and only went to about her elbows on the sleeves. Still, it would do the job. Right now though she wasn't wearing it, just keeping it next to her.

Toshiro decided that he smelled like vomit and mud so he took a shower to clean himself off. But he did it all pretty quickly. His normally spikey hair was flat against his head. Toshiro put on his nicest pair of clothes. Sasuke was kind enough to get him a nicer outfit, that he was too afraid to wear in fear of ruining it. The outfit was nearly the same as his old one, but the shirt was much more like something Sasuke wore in his youth. It was a traditional sort of Uchiha uniform so it was a little bit more open. Mai had reluctantly sewed on a couple of buttons so he could button the shirt up.
He quickly made his way up to the monument. Toshiro paused suddenly when he saw Akane in her new outfit. He stared at her dreamily for a moment before snapping out of it and went up to her.
"H-Hhhhheyyy A-Akane. You look.... amazing, Uhhh UHHH I mean fantastic, I mean Ummmmm You look very very very very very nice." Toshiro wanted to bang his head against a brick wall.

I think that answers my question.
Akane blushed to match her outfit as Toshiro rambled on about how she looked. She didn't think she was that great looking, and it wasn't the most flattering outfit in her mind. Still, Toshiro seemed to think she looked great, so that made it fine in her mind.
"And you look good yourself Toshiro. Newer clothes?" She asked, trying to help Toshiro out a bit by moving the attention onto him instead of her.

"Uh Uh uhhhh..."
Toshiro scratched his head awkwardly and looked over himself a couple of times. He would have to thank Sasuke later on for the clothes, even if Akane didnt mean it, it was still really nice to hear. Toshiro tried to fluff up his hair, it was still slicked back from his shower. His pale face turned bright red, Toshiro didnt even want to think about himself right then.
"Y-Yyyeah, ummm Lord Sasuke gave them to me awhile back. Mai added the buttons for me, otherwise it would be an ... umm... open chest shirt." Toshiro replied, "S-ssssso. Umm what do you want to do now?"

Akane decided to not talk about the open chest shirt. She had a feeling Toshiro would have a heart attack if she did so. He already looked like he was going to do so now. As for his hair, she thought it was cute he was trying to fluff it up. She'd help, but again, he'd probably faint. So for now, it was time to think of something for them to do.
"Uhm, well, I thought for now we could just sit up her for a little while and talk. We haven't really been able to do that. Between Mai, Momiji, and training, something always got in the way."

Toshiro nodded in agreement, there was always something in the way of them getting a little bit of one on one time. Though in the back of his mind he was thinking that Mai was going to show up any minute to ruin everything. Once he thought his hair looked decent he slowly approached her, every once in awhile stopping to make sure she didnt think he was trying to make a move on her. All he wanted to do was get in a better hearing range.
"S-So, umm what do you want to talk about?"

"I don't know. I've been sitting here thinking about that. We've already gotten past the point of you admitting on having a crush me because of Momiji, but after that we've been kind of silent. Other than having some really awkward conversations. So maybe we could work on not acting to awkward around each other?" She asked, not trying to sound mean. But if there was to be any change in their relation, whether as friends or not, they'd have to stop being so awkward around each other.
"Or do you think we should talk about something else first? I'm relatively flexible on that point."

Toshiro thought his body was going to melt into a puddle of liquid jello. And it didnt help that she called him out on his awkwardness, Mai had always told him it was part of his strange charm. He scratched his head, too a really deep breath, closed his eyes, then exhaled. Toshiro was trying to build up a little bit of confidence.
"I`ll do my best, but I lack self confidence, obviously, to do anything so It makes me really really awkward." Toshiro replied, "But while I work on it why dont you, umm, start up a conversation? I`ll try to reply without doing anything stupid."

"You don't lack confidence. You're the one who asked me to hang out with you remember? So it just kind of fluctuates. But if you want to talk about something else..."
Akane had to admit the kid was trying. He wasn't fainting, falling, or hiding like other people might have if they had a similar personality. Instead, he was trying.
"So then, is the Uchiha household a nice place to live? I mean, I know Mai, but I don't know the other Uchiha that well."
This was relevant since it seemed hanging out with the Uchiha had a lot to do with Toshiro's change in personality.

Toshiro shrugged and nodded his head, the Uchiha household was always very neat and tidy. Although Mai`s tornado of a room seemed to be the blackhole on the house. But that wasnt important. Sasuke ran a fairly strict house with his own children, Toshiro was free to do as he pleased as long as he didnt break anything.
"Yeah it is, Lord Sasuke isnt around much though. But when he is hes always nice to me. Hes just a little strict, now I know why they got strait A`s in the academy." Toshiro replied with a laugh, "Daisuke, Mai`s older brother, hes really really nice. Hes like Lord Sasuke, but a little more upbeat and cheery. Mai... well I have no idea where she gets her traits from, shes much different from her family. But thats a bit off topic..."

"I think most people who didn't know her already wouldn't believe Mai is a Uchiha. She's always so bubbly and energetic, which isn't the first thing you think of when you think of a Uchiha, if my understanding is correct." Akane replied.
"Anyway, why don't you tell me a little about yourself. No offense, but the only thing I know about is that you've been living with Mai. Your life before that is a complete mystery to me. Though if you don't want to talk about it, that's okay too."

Toshiro seemed to close right on up again when she mentioned talking about his past, he was incredibly sensitive when it same to it. But every ninja probably had some kind of tragic past, and he probably wasnt any different from everybody else.
"Wwwell... ummm.... I-I... I was born in the village hidden in the rain. My parents werent really shinobi so we were pretty poor. When I went to the academy I passed all of the classes, but I couldnt really do many of the justu they asked. Ninjutsu was never really my thing, but my sensei told me to work on the other things I was good at." Toshiro began, he finally brought his hands outside of his pockets to show that he wasnt terrible nervous anymore, "I ran into Master Pein, he tried to teach the unteachable. He died and gave me his eyes, my eyes were boring old black so it was kind of a nice change. Then he died and I began to become better and better at all sorts of jutsu. Later on my genin team was murdered by an akatsuki, then I came here."

Akane wasn't too sure what she could respond to that with. She didn't want to say sorry for his life, because the it would sound like she was pitying them. But at the same time, she didn't want to sound heartless and not say anything.
Then her mind registered what the last part had said. He was taught by Pein, the man who had almost destroyed the Leaf Village many years ago and was a member of the original Akatsuki. That really made her confused on what to say next. She just really hoped her silence didn't cause him to clam up again.

When Akane didnt say anything, Toshiro knew that it was probably the part that had to do with his old master. But he wasnt afraid to talk about it, Toshiro believed in what Pein taught him over the months he spent with him.
"Master Pein told me that after Naruto was murdered all peace was lost, and he believed that a person like me could do something about it. He believed in me, Master Pein said that I was to take on his old role... and that the Uchiha were not to be trusted." Toshiro explained, "Master Pein wasnt a bad guy, he just wanted peace."
