Inoko's scowl went away when Mai offered to hang out with her later. Still, she would have to correct Mai's assumption that she didn't like her at all. Sure, she hadn't known Mai long, but Inoko still thought of her as a friend. As for Shikaniku, Mai had a lot to learn about him.
"Oh, that? He's just being himself. Probably just wants to make sure he doesn't get hit again by avoiding us. We're both 'over-energetic teenage girl' after all," she said, mocking Shikaniku's monotone voice.
"Still, don't look into it too much. Give him a little bit of time and he'll be fine."

Mai smirked at Inoko`s mocking tone, she was probably right. He just needed a little bit of space and hopefully he would go back to normal. She turned back to Douke for a second to see if he was going to reply to her but when it didnt seem like he was going to she looked back at her team mates..
"I`ll be sure to leave him alone for awhile." She replied, then turned to Douke once again, "So what do you say Douke? Have anything going on after this?"

"No, I got nothing. I only came here because I saw you." Douke replied before looking sadly at his empty bowl. When the man came by with another bowl, Douke squealed. He put his mask into 'eating mode' and started to chown down at the same rapid rate as before.
"He's got quite the appetite, doesn't he Mai?" Inoko said, leaning on the counter. She never ate that much, usually limiting herself to one bowl of ramen. Her bowl finally came, and she started to slowly eat it.

Mai pushed her empty bowl towards the counter to the man could come and pick it up. She didnt have much money with her, but she knew that her father had a tab for her and she could always pay him back later. She smiled when Douke said he came there because he had seen her, Mai didnt know why but knowing that a guy came to sit with her was quite the ego booster. Hiroshi pretty much stalked her but she never really thought of him in a particular way, probably because they were practically brother and sister. Her cheeks turned a little bit pink. Mai`s mind was scrambled.
"You came here because you saw me? Thats really nice of you, I was thinking I was going to be all alone."

"Of course. Douke-san is always ready to hang out with friends Mai-chan." He replied before slurping up a rather long string of ramen noodles, ending with a smack. He thought her last statement over, and concluded that Mai must have had a sad life if the first thing she thought of was being alone.
Inoko noticed Mai's cheeks blush, and suddenly became very interested in the conversation. She mentally giggled at the thought of Mai and Douke being together, till she realized the pure amount of energy between them would probably destroy Konoha. Still, it was a fun thought that she just had to have some fun with.
"So Mai, what do you think of Douke? He seems like a fun guy. Kind of cute too. Sort of like a big kid." She whispered.

Mai raised her eyebrows and shot Inoko a side glance before she turned towards her. When she asked her what she thought about Douke she shrugged and mumbled something that sounded like a smashed together I dont know. Mai glanced back at Douke for a moment and grinned.
"We dont even know what he really looks like though, which is why I wanted to go with him alone. Maybe I could get him to take his mask off for a moment." Mai whispered back, her head shot up when she heard the loud slurp. She was acting a little paranoid.

"If you can get that mask off, you better get a picture or something. Either that, or let me take over for a moment with the Mind-Body change. I want to get a look too. Got a plan?" she replied to Mai.
Douke saw Mai's head shoot up after he finished the ramen noodle, but thought nothing of it. He just went back to work on the food. Shikaniku, meanwhile, had gotten closer to the gang, wanting to hear what the girls were whispering about. He caught something about Douke's mask and plan. His interest waned after that. Whatever Douke looked like under the mask, he didn't really care.

"...Actually, I... umm... was hoping that he would show me willingly. I dont want to play any tricks on him. Dont want to hurt his feelings or anything." She replied back in a whisper. Mai couldnt get herself to look at Douke at the moment, she felt strange for some reason. But she mustered up the courage and turned back to him. She placed some money on the counter and stood up.
"So uh, Douke? Ready to go or do you need a minute or two to finish?"]

Just as Mai asked if he was done, Douke was finishing up slurping the last of the liquid from the bowl. Satisfied, he turned his mask back around before looking at Mai.
"I'm done and ready to go Mai-chan. Is Inoko-chan going to come along?" He asked. She shook her head.
"No, I think I'm going to leave you two alone. Besides, I got to head home and help out with the flower shop. Stop by later if you get the chance. Shikaniku, you coming along?" She asked, turning around to face the surprised Nara boy.
"Oh, uhm, no, I got to get going soon. Dad wanted to play some Shogi, and I can't resist a game of that. I guess I'll see you all later then," he replied as he stood up and began to slouch his way out the door. Inoko gave Douke and Mai one last goodbye before leaving. Outside, she met up with Shikaniku.
"I'm guessing you are not going home, are you?" He asked.
"Please, and miss the chance to see those two together. Even Ino couldn't convince me to miss it," she replied, an evil grin appearing.

Mai headed out of the ramen stand with Douke, she looked around in every direction wondering where they could go. Nothing really came to her mind at the moment, so she turned to Douke. He didnt seem like he would take much seriously, based on Inoko`s questions she probably thought they were going to hook or or something. Sure it was a thought in her mind, but she thought that Douke would just laugh and skip off.
"So what do you want to go do Douke?"

He shrugged. He had no clue what kind of things were in this town, outside of the ramen, kage monument, and some hot springs. So he had no clue what kind of things there were to do in the town since he assumed Mai didn't want to do any of those things. His finger was on his mouth, or at least where it would be if he had a mouth.
"I don't know Mai-chan. I have no clue what there is around this place other than ramen and hot springs. Could just walk around and see what happens to us."

Mai nodded, it sounded like a good plan to her. It always seemed as if this was how all of her little outings turned out, they just wandered around the village talking about random things. She scratched the back of her head, maybe this wasnt such a good idea after all.
"So uhh... while we look for something to do why dont we talk about something?"

"Such as what Mai-san?" He asked, noticing that Mai was acting rather strange. Usually she was energetic. Not as much as him, but pretty up there. And now she acted rather strange, slow, and confused. Was she getting sick? Without thinking, Douke placed his hand on her head, though he did forget about the gloves.
"You okay Mai-chan? You're acting funny, but Douke-san doesn't feel a fever..."

Mai was starting to get her energy back until she felt Douke`s hand on her forehead. She thought that all of the blood had drained from her face, she felt pale for a second. The Uchiha gaze up at him but she was at a loss of words. She didnt know why she was acting this way, normally she had nothing but confidence, but now she just was drawing a blank.
"Y-Yeah... Umm.. uhh... ehh... Im fine. Yeah! Im perfectly fine, so erm..." Mai cleared her throat, "Im drawing a blank on everything actually right now."

Inoko was currently observing the two of them from the shadows, trying so hard to not giggle. These two were just so cute together, and it was just so funny to see Mai at a loss of words for once. She would have to make sure to have Douke around more often. This was just so entertaining.
Seeing Mai just go pale all of a sudden, followed by her statement of drawing a blank, made Douke think she was really sick. He took his hand of her head, and then grabbed her by the wrist. The plan was to take her home, and he began to drag her behind him. Then he realized he was going the wrong direction, so he quickly turned around and went the other way.
"No offense Mai-chan, but I think you are sick. You're paler than what that Orochimaru guy looked like. Sasuke-san might know what is wrong with you Mai-chan."
Inoko watched as they ran off, hearing the words 'Sasuke'. She thought following them to the Uchiha compound might be risky, but it would be worth it to see all of this.
