Douke just stood there as Mai dusted him off. Douke didn't like what he was hearing out of Mai, about getting revenge and all. Sure, Inoko had been mean by smaking his head, but that didn't mean she had to go be mean back.
"Theres no need to do that. I'm fine, I really am. Inoko-chan was probably just frustrated like you said. I'm sure she didn't mean to be so mean to Douke-san. Just forgive and forget, please Mai-chan?" He asked, somehow doing puppy dog eyes with the mask on.

Mai laughed, as much as revenge sounded like it was the best way to ensure it wouldnt happen again, there was just no way that she could resist those big puppy dog eyes. She thought about her anger issues for a moment, which made her remember the kyuubi. Douke was lucky enough that he had never gotten to see that dangerous side of her. She was unsure if she should tell him about it or not, perhaps he would think twice about being her boyfriend. Mai thought about something else then, she wasnt too sure that Douke was actually going to take their relationship seriously.
"Douke, would you hate me if I was some kind of monster?"

"Depends. I've seen some really cool looking monsters in some books and..."
Somewhere in the back of his mind, in the small spot that maintained normal brain function, Douke knew that what he was saying was not the right answer. It sounded, well, childish, and would help Mai in no way whatsover. So he quickly shut up, and started to think before speaking.
"No, there's no way I could hate you Mai-chan. You've been so nice to me, even making me your boyfriend. I couldn't hate you after that. Besides, your not a monster at all. It's people like Jing that are monsters, caring for themselves and no one else....do you need a hug?"
Douke added the last part because from all the books and stuff he had read, girls usually began to cry after hearing the answer to questions that affected them personally. And he had a feeling that Mai had just asked something important.

Mai hugged him, it was so hard to tell somebody that she felt close to that she was some sort of scary monster that would break free at any moment. She just hoped that if she did have an outburst Douke would be a hundred miles away. The thought of watching somebody die that she cared about killed her.
"You must not know what type of monster I am. Have you heard what happened to the sand village at the last chuunin exams? I did all of that. You should have seen everyone`s face when they thought I was dead." Mai told him quietly, leaning her head on his shoulder, "Everybody was so happy to see the monster Uchiha dead. But i`ll prove everybody wrong, I`ll beat the odds no matter what it takes. I`ll be the hokage one day, and everybody will see that they were really wrong about me and my clan."

"I heard about that. Didn't know you were involved. All I knew was that there was a guy in a black coat goading some girl with red chakra. But if that was you, well, either you made a mistake, or you weren't yourself. Either way, Douke-san can't blame you for it now." He said as he returned Mai's hug. He was really enjoying being her boyfriend. The hug's were much nicer for some reason. He couldn't explain why, but they just felt better.
"So then, you said Sasuke-san would want to inspect me?" He said, hoping to go ahead and get that over with. From what he knew of Sasuke, he scared Douke-san very much.

Mai looked up at him when she mentioned her father`s name. She had almost forgotten about that, if her father didnt approve of Douke then she would probably be forbidden from ever seeing him again. But if he did like Douke, then it wouldnt be much of a problem. But something else crossed her mind as well, her father was probably out on a mission. A meeting with Daisuke would be much less pressure since he was much nicer.
"Just promise me something Douke... If you ever see the red chakra surround me, and I dont seem like myself anymore, you`ll get as far away from me as possible." Mai asked him in a pleading voice, she released him from the hug and grabbed his hand to lead him to her house.

"Okay?" He said as Mai grabbed his hand and started to lead him to the Uchiha compound.
He hadn't really understood what Mai asked of him. Sure, he guessed she must have had a mosnter or something in her, but why would she want him to run away if the chakra turned red? Wouldn't that be a good time for him to stay, cause he could possibly calm her down. But Mai-chan gave him a request, and he always kept his promises.
As for the meeting, he felt a sense of impending doom. For some reason, meeting Mai's family as a 'boyfriend' made it feel this way. He didn't know why this way, but just that it did. Hopefully everything would turn out alright, because he did not like the feeling of doom.

Once they got to the compound, Mai felt a strange eerie breeze pushing them towards the front door. She headed in through the gates in the front yard and she ran across the dirt yard until she reached the door. Mai didnt bother taking off her sandals, she was sure that her father was out on a mission so it wouldnt be that big of a problem. Slowly she slid the door open and poked her head inside, it was totally dark. Maybe they were in the clear. Mai flagged Douke inside and she headed in herself.
Mai headed down the main hallway and heard somebody clear their throat. She stopped dead in her tracks, she saw the silhouette of a figure inside. Sasuke and Daisuke looked so similar it was hard to tell based off a shadow which it was.
"I knew this day would come." Daisuke`s voice sounded very scary and dark, Mai almost turned back. But the door to the room slid open, Daisuke looked down at his sister and Douke. "Come in and sit."
Inside the room was a low table with a couple of pillows surrounding it. A single candle was lit in the middle of the table and a scroll was placed at the head of the table, Daisuke had blocked out the windows with some of the other pillows. It was really just plain creepy.

Unlike Mai, Douke made sure to take his shoes off. It was the polite thing for a guest to do, especially since he was Mai's boyfriend and wanted to impress the family.
He followed right behind Mai as they went through the compound. He was amazed that even after all this time, the Uchiha's still had an awesome place to live. It was better than the bandit camp he used to live in at least. Right now he had an apartment he was paying off with mission money. He thought it rather cozy, but it had nothing on this place.
After seeing the room that Daisuke was sitting in, however, he wanted to be in his own apartment. It looked more like the guy was preparing for an interagation, not meeting his sister's boyfriend. Then again, this was the Uchiha. They were all about the seriousness.
"Uhm, Daisuke-san, would it be alright if we had some more lights in here?" He asked, though he also wanted the room open more in case there would be a later need for witnesses.

Daisuke stared at Douke for the longest time as if the request for more light was too big of a task. Mai took the liberty of swatting the pillows off the window, allowing more light to flood into the room before she sat down at the table.
Not taking his eyes off the strange masked character for a moment, Daisuke sat down at the table. He rolled up his sleeves and lightly tapped the scroll on the table with one finger.
"Alrighty, so before we begin Sasuke has a couple of important rules for you Douke." Daisuke told him as he unrolled the scroll. It rolled across the room and into the hallway, each line was a different rule. Mai stared at her brother like this was some kind of joke.
"First off No physical contact unless father is present. Absolutely no kissing, touching, hugging, or looking at Mai the wrong way." The Uchiha continued on with his seemingly endless list of things, Mai had lost interest and stared up at the ceiling, hoping that Douke wouldnt take this crap too seriously. After about five strait minutes of reading the rules off the scroll he got to the final line.
"And absolutely NO bad naughty things that will get you into soooo much trouble that Sasuke would want to murder Douke, you understand me dont you Mai?"
Mai`s head was tilted to the side, her eye began to twitch a little bit. Sasuke must have thought of EVERYTHING, a whole day was probably wasted on writing that list. Daisuke snapped his fingers infront of Mai`s face and she seemed to snap out of her trance.
"Yeah yeah, we know. Just get on with the rest of the interrogation so we can go."
Daisuke nodded his head and said, "So Douke tell me a little bit about yourself."

Douke backed up a little bit under Daisuke's intense glare. He was really getting a bit scared. All he wanted to do was meet them. This looked more like they were going to torture and interrogate him. Though having more light in the room helped.
As Daisuke started to read off the rules, Douke listened rather intently, making sure to memorize them. He didn't want Daisuke-san or Sasuke-san to kill him for breaking the rules. Though the rule about no hugging might have to be broken. Anyone who knew him knew that it was his usual greeting to hug people.
Eventually Daisuke stopped speaking, and Douke quickly sat up straight when he was spoken to. Of course, he really didn't know how to start talking about himself. It wasn't a question he was usually asked. He guessed he might as well start at the beginning.
"Well Daisuke-san, I was born in Hidden Cloud. My father was a shinobi, and helped to teach me my fighting style. Quite a fun style, with the air and everything. Anyway,"
He wasn't sure how to explain the next part. It was probably best to not tell the guy he used to be part of a bandit gang, but then again, with that Sharingan it would be easy to tell that Douke was lying. Besides, he wasn't a very good liar anyways.
"I went with him on a trip to here many years ago, but he got killed by some bandits. They framed it as an accident, and then kidnapped me. I ended up being one of their main fighters. I worked for them for a few years, then Mai-chan and her team came and beat them. I helped a little though. Douke-san didn't like them trying to kill them..."
He tried to think if there was anything else he might want to say. The most obvious was probably the mask, so he went with that.
"I wear the mask for the fun of it, though if you want a more serious reason, it does help me with fighting. When all your attacks are based on air, you kick up a lot of dust and dirt, which is a bad thing to get in your eyes. But it's mostly just for fun."

Daisuke listened carefully and wrote down everything Douke said word for word on a little pad of paper he had pulled out of his pocket. When Douke got to the part about the bandits, Daisuke paused for a moment and eyed him. Mai rolled her eyes and put her feet up on the table, in order to wait the investigation out.
"Sorry for all of this by the way, Sasuke just wants to make sure nothing bad happens to his little girl." Daisuke chuckled as he flipped to the next page in his notebook, "Alrighty... what form of torture is next... I`ll skip the what if situation paper that he wants you to fill out... I think that thats all I want to do. Now run for your lives, because if Sasuke gets here before you leave.... your doomed. I was supposed to continue questioning you until the sun went down, but I think thats a bit on the creepy side."
Mai leapt up, hugged her brother and went to the door. Daisuke smiled, his little sister was starting to grow up even though her boyfriend seemed like a total ditz.
"The last rule is the most important, just dont do anything stupid. Thats all I ask."

"Yes sir Daisuke-san. Douke-san promises to not do anything stupid." He said before rapidly standing up. In the process, however, he banged his knee on the table, and had to resist yelling out as he bowed politely to Mai-chan's older brother. If he was to make a bad impression, which he thought yelling would do, then Mai-chan's family would look down on him and then not let Mai be his friend, best friend, and/or girlfriend. And he always hated loosing friends.
With that done, he hobbled over to Mai to prevent further injury to his knee.
"So, what now Mai-chan?" He asked, wondering what they were going to do next. They were told to leave before Sasuke-san got back.

Mai was practically already out the door, but stopped when she heard a loud bang. She glanced back in the room to make sure that Daisuke didnt kill Douke or something. But when everything looked fine she waited for Douke to catch up.
"I dont know... is there anything else that you want to see while we`re here?" Mai asked him, "Oh, Daisuke isnt that scary all of the time. He was just doing that for my dad, Daisuke is actually very nice."

Douke crossed his arms in a serious way in an attempt to think of something for them to do. He had met the family, and was creeped out by them. They had eaten ramen, so he was full. And he really doubted she'd want to train with him, not like he could help her in anyway of course.
"Aih, why don't we visit Inoko-chan in her flower shop. I'm sure she'd love to see us, or at least would tolerate us. I'm sure she's calmed down a little by now."
