Sparks flew up towards the black star filled sky, the fire roared, illuminating the are around it. A small group gathered around, eager to hear a story the new chief had to tell.
The chief of the Southern Water Tribe was a tall man, dressed in the traditional dark blue clothes, a clawed necklace around his neck, almost hidden beneath the puffy white fur collar. He had a simple beard, almost in the shape of a rough arrow. His hair was kept back in a short warriors wolf tail, most of his hair was jaw length. The chief couldnt have been more than 30 years old.
"My good people, brothers and sisters of the Southern Water Tribe, what tale of mine would you like to hear?"asked the chief, voice full of expression and life. He sat on a large Armadillo Lion skin. The small, but steadily growing group consisting of mainly children went into an uproar of various suggestions.
A young boy stood, and scooted closer to the chief. He looked about ten or so years old. He was dressed in the standard clothes, with the warm coat over it. His blue eyes spotted the Chiefs warrior helmet and put it on, he gazed up at the tall man, who smiled.
"Hey dad tell us that one story, the one about the Avatar."
"My adventure with the Avatar? Ahh... very good choice Taro, brings back many memories of mine. Some wonderful but others equally as horrible."
The little audience hushed as puzzled over where to start.
"Yeah Chief Batu! Tell us of your adventures with the Avatar!" A voice yelled from the back of the group. After a moment Batu looked up at them, ready to begin. The children in the front of the group twitched with antisipation, they had never heard this story. Or at least not the true version of it. They heard the avatar though a female, was ruthless and had no problem killing those who got in her way. Others heard her friends that traveled with her did the work, while she took her time mastering the elements. Neither story was true. It was what really made him want to retell it.
"Well I`ll start from where I first met the avatar."Batu began, "About twenty or so years ago, towards the north eastern part of the Southern Water tribe, I found boat smashed up and incased in a prison of ice. Being the boy I was, I went to investigate rather than go after the tiger seals. What I found wasnt quite what I was expecting to be honest. I found nothing at all. Disappointed I decided to pursue the striped seals once again. Something made me pause, I felt a strange presence nearby, I turned only to be standing in front of a lone girl. She didnt look like most young water tribe girls, most of them kept their hair back and they all practically looked like clones. Thats no longer the case anymore ladies." Batu chuckled nervously, as he looked over the angered faces, he cleared his throat, "Anyways...."

Author Notes:
Just a little something I wrote because I was bored and its almost two am. I had nothing to do so I decided I`d start this fan fiction. I`ve been meaning to write it for some time now. Hopefully you guys will like it, its sort of my own version of the story thats going on right now. Tell me if I should continue with it, believe me it gets better!
