Character Name: Kazuma Ishimaru
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Description: Ishimaru wears the standard clothing for an Airbender. He wears a pair of brown boots that reach up to his knees. His pants are the standard yellow with brown on the back. He wears an orange shawl over his yellow long-sleeved shirt. His eyes are a light brown color, and of course his head is shaved. He has yet to receive the arrow tattoos that Airbenders are known for, as he has mastered Airbending. His body is small built, perfect for the agility and flexibility of Airbenders.
Personality: Ishimaru is a bit of an oddity for an Airbender. While most of them are known for a good sense of humor, Ishimaru isn’t to fond of jokes and pranks. He is usually serious, though sometimes when he tries to get extra serious he is almost funny. However, like all Airbenders, he is in tune with nature and is respectful to it. Also, he prefers to fight defensively, and tries to use persuasion instead of fighting.
Since joining up with Avani, he's lighten up a little bit. He still maintains a rather serious front, be he isn't really angered by jokes anymore. Most of the time he doesn't understand them, or doesn't even know when someone is joking. He still sometimes fails to realize the consequences of what his words mean until after he has said them. There are signs of improvement, but he still has a long way to go before he is ready to be social.
History: Ishimaru was born in the Southern Air Temple, near the South Pole. From a young age he showed an interest in Airbending, and his natural skill attracted the monks attentions. His parents, proud of their son, consented to let him travel to the Eastern Air Temple to further his skills. He would return to visit every chance he got, and would demonstrate his skills to his family and monks. After a year of this, his training was continued at the Southern Air Temple. The war with the Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation was of great concern to the monks, and thought it best that those who were still young and training in Airbending should be as far from the fighting as possible should something happen.
As time went on, Ishimaru continued to show impressive skill in his bending. If wasn’t for the fact the next bender in the cycle was a Water Bender, it could be surmised he was the Avatar. One day, though, his world fell apart. His mother died of a disease, and while it was painless, it still broke Ishimaru. His training began to slack, which was sad as he was so close to becoming a master. He also became more withdrawn and serious, constantly meditating in an attempt to make peace with himself. By this point, the monks had received news concerning the Avatar. Thinking that it would help Ishimaru, they have sent him to join up with the Avatar to escort her to the Temple for Airbending lessons, hoping her cheerful demeanor and friendship would pull him out of his rut.
So far there plan has worked. Since he has been with Avani, he's been a bit more cheerful. Not that it is shown, but he is less hostile, and more likely to talk now. Even the incident with a Fire Nation assassin damaging his legs hasn't broken him. His social skills are improving, to a point. He still has trouble understanding the actions of people around him, and what his own actions mean. But he is showing some slight emotions, including embarrasment. It's a great leap forward, but he still has a long ways to go.
Fighting Style: Air Bender
Equipment/Tools/Pets: A Glider. Has a Flying Bison by the name of Suppo.
