Normal RPing and Casual Dueling When not in a duel you follow all normal rules of roleplaying. Casual dueling does not have to follow the rules of dueling that will appear below. They have no effect on the ranking or anything really and so we just don't really care about them that much. They are more of a roleplay tool than anything else. However, please do not abuse this.

Dueling The core of the Yu-gi-oh universe is dueling and this roleplay is no exception. There are, however, huge differences between dueling in real life and on a forum. In real life it is much faster and you can see your opponent, making it much easier to detect cheating. However, you can't really do that online. And so I have created the following rules for dueling and the posts that are related to it. Drawing Your First Hand and OtherwiseAs you can see in the profiles each card has a number next to them. There is a reason for this; they control what you draw. Before each draw (whether its your first hand, draw phase, or whatever) you must use a random number program (one is given in the Information Thread). The number you get in the program is the number you draw. It's that easy. However, all duels will be watched, and if it seems you are getting too lucky with your draws a moderator will take over the drawing of cards and just tell you what you got (they must still use the program though). The Field of PlayIn every post you must announce what is on your side of the field at the end of your turn so your opponent knows the current situation. You must tell what monsters there are, magic cards, trap cards, etc. PhasesA turn in Yu-gi-oh is divided into several phases and you must separate your posts by phase. Just basically tell us when you change phases. The phase order goes like this; -Drawing Phase -Standby Phase -Main PhaseAfter the Main Phase give your opponent up to a day for a response in case if they have a trap or something. If no reply then you may move on. -Battle PhaseIf you declare an attack during the Battle Phase follow the same procedure as after the Main Phase. -Main Phase 2Follow same procedure as after Main Phase. -End PhaseNote that the rules after the Main,Battle, and Main Phase 2 can be skipped if agreed upon by the two duelists. Life Points:It is highly recommended you post your total life points after every turn so you can keep track of them. Otherwise the duel may be ended due to mismanagement of Life Points. Graveyard:Better keep track of your graveyard contents. You do not need to have this posted in the thread however. Your Hand:Since this is a roleplay your opponent is going to know what is in your hand by reading your posts. However, at the same time your opponent has to stay in character and therefore they have to act as if they didn't know. Now, when a card is played that involves randomly choosing a card from your opponents hand they number each card you have with a number between 1-5 (depending on the amount you have) and use the randomiser. Again, if it seems you get too lucky a moderator will do it for you.

how about we write the face-down cards and cards in our hand in teal or lightblue (depending on the background of the post), size 1, and sup or sub, so that our opponent can't see it as clearly? cuz I don't want to pretend like I don't know. it makes the game too hard.

You don't have to write what the face-down cards are, just that there is a face-down card on the ground. And you don't have to write what is in your hand, just that you've drawn a card. Your plan wouldn't really help, as all they would have to do is quote your post and read it, since in the reply screen the size and color would be just like [this], and you can read the message in between the brackets [/this]
