First Duel of the Year: Will vs. Alex

"Never played in this dome before. To think, this technology making the holagrams for this card game could be going to better use. Dunno what use, though. Like it here? I'm not entirely sure if I do...mind, I'm probably not that heavily into duelling"

"This place is pretty cool. At least they don't force you to play. That would take the fun out of the whole thing." He said. "I like to duel every now and then; I'm not into just dueling constantly. It would get boring real quick then." He said, laughing some.

Alex was worried about Will's face down, whatever it was, it was probably going to hurt his magician. Alex drew the Magic Cylinder from his deck. this could be good for Alex's magician if it was attacked.

"Ok I play one face down, and my Magician will attack your mermaid" Dark Magician of Chaos started spinning his staff and than pointed at the Toon Mermaid to attack her with a blact of magic.

"That was exactly what I was expecting you to do my friend. I activate my face down card Draining Shield."

The card Will had faced down flipped up, revealing it's glory.

"This little card starts by negating your attack. So I'm sorry to say that Toon Mermaid will not be dying this turn."

A shield appeared infront of his cowering mermaid, blocking the dark magic. She then stuck her tongue out at the Dark Magician of Chaos as the magic headed towards Will.

"Next, Draining shield increases my life points equal to the Attack points of the monster that attacked. Therefore, you just gave me 2800 life points. Thanks."

With the attacks over Will was grinning from ear to ear. His situation was relatively good. He now had 5300 LP, a pretty healthy number since they originally started off with 4000. It gave him some breathing room till he could figure out what to do next.

Alex sighed. well at least the trap didn't hurt me. Alex thought. "Ok will I have nothing else I want to do." Alex said ending his turn.

[Pikachu]

((Well Dust this was a great duel. Sadly, I thought of a way to win this duel in this very turn.))

"Alright then, let's see what I got to give you this turn."

Pulling out his next card, he found that he had drawn the Toon Masked Sorcerer. Sadly, there wouldn't be a need for him as Will had figured out how to finish the duel this turn. And all he needed was that Giant Trunade he drew way back at the start of the duel.

"Alright Alex, this was a fun duel. Sadly, it's over now. I activate Giant Trunade."

With a massive wind all magic and trap cards on the field returned to the owner's hands. His Toon World was back in his hand, but his toons remained on the field.

"By the way, Toon Monsters are only destroyed if Toon World is destroyed, and being sent back to my hand doesn't count as being destroyed. Therefore, my Toon Mermaid stays on the field.However, your trap is gone. Now then, with the cost of 1000 LP, I activate Toon World once again."

The Toon World was soon back on the field, and the field was back to the way it was, minus Alex's trap card. That left the field open for Will to attack him directly.

"Like I said Alex, nice duel. Now then, let's end this. Toon Mermaid fire when ready."

With a giggle and a wink the mermaid notched up and arrow, and soon it was sent flying in a loop-de-loop around the Dark Magician of Chaos straight into Alex. Since he only had 1200 LP, and Toon Mermaid had 1400 ATK, he was reduced to 0.

"And that little manuver only cost me 1500, which puts me at 3800 life points left if my math is correct. However, you are down to 0. That is game.

"heh, they come up with the flashiest holograms for this game. Either way, I'm going back to my dorm now. I heard dinner's in about 10 minutes" Ivan was about to walk out, , until something struck his mind "Do you have to book the dome to duel in?"

[Michael]

Michael looked up at Ivan. "Some times... I think you have to during the tournaments and such." He said, as he got up to follow Ivan out the door.

[Dustomega]

Alex clutched his cards in frustration, he was not a fan of losing. God, I can't believe I lost to this guy. Alex tried to calm himself down. "Well Will, It looks like you had the better hand this time, But I won't lose to you next time. I will see you at the dorm Will" Alex said and started to head to his dorm room.

[Pikachu]

With the duel over with Will turned off his duel disk and put it up. He was going to say something to the others, but they all had left the room by that point. He tilted his head a little, confused at their leaving. They could at least have given him a small applause for his win. Then again, when did he actually care about that sort of thing? Besides, with dinner coming up soon there were more important things to do.

"I hope they have meatloaf tonight." Will said to himself as he left the hall, making sure to pull the switch that turned off the lights.

"Quite a big place this" He said to Michael" He said to Michael "And there seems to bhe a volcano on this island. Wonder if you're allowed to go up and have a look. It'd be an interesting trip. Either way, I'm going to the dorm to get dinner - coming?"

[Michael]

"Of cores, I'm getting hungry anyway." He said, following Ivan.
