The monk that had greeted them when Ishimaru was taken away had remained with them, but so far he had been silent. He didn't want to disturb their conversation, and it wasn't like they had anything planned that would interfere with what she should be doing anyways. However, when the question of the arrows arose he felt it was time to explain to them how the Airbender society had grown after the return of Aang.
"I'm sorry to say that there won't be many monks around here with arrows. You see at this point of time that airbending is relatively rare among us. Most of the people that make up the airbending nomads are people who after witnessing Avatar Aang decided to join him and follow airbender philosophy. None of them could airbend of course, but once they began having children the ability seemed to reappeared. That, and some lessons from Aang and the sky bisons seemed to have helped, but in general there aren't that many airbenders around."
((There, that should provide some explanation for the return of the airbender civilization. Of course still need to explain where the sky bisons came from...))

"Oh well maybe you could teach Avani. I mean if your a master that is" Garun said to the monk. I wonder what water bending techniques i could learn through utilizing the techniques of air bending Garun thought to himself

Avani listened to the monks story and nodded when she felt it was needed. There were quite a few Air nomads now, but few benders.
"Only master air benders have tattoos."she told Garun, "Though that doesnt mean he isnt an air bender. Ishimaru is a fabulous airbender but he doesnt have any tattoos yet."

The monk shook his head at the mention of him being a master.
"I'm sorry to say that I am not an airbender myself. I was someone who migrated here many years before. While I know the basics of airbending, it's only a scholarship knowledge. Ishimaru, as you said so yourself, is one of the better airbenders. In fact, we had originally planned on having him teach you while you worked on stopping the war. However, his injuries may prove to prevent that."

She paused when he mentioned the war, she didnt know much about it. But the thought of Ishimaru as her teacher made her smile, she hoped they could be friends.
"Well Ishimaru could just tell me what to do, he doesnt need to show me."Avani said, "I suppose since Im the avatar I`ll understand it pretty quickly... hopefully..."

"You mean she might have to listen ti Ishimaru" Garun said with an open mouth. "I didnt know Ishimaru was good enough to teach Avani." Garun said to the monk. "Well i suppose if any is gonna teach her then it may aswell be someone she trusts" Garun said

"That was we had hoped would happen. You see his mother died and he went into a serious depression that has quite frankly made him the way he is now. Sure, he was always a bit more serious than the average monk but her death just, well, it broke him. We had thought that sending him out with you would help him accept it and move on, but now it might just make things worse. Then again, it may also make him learn to appreciate life more. Sometimes a good shock is all that is needed."
The monk took a moment to realize how 'unairbender' that sounded before rambling off an apology about his 'earth kingdom' heritage. Once he had a moment to calm down he led them to the doors of the temple and opened them, showing them the entrance hall to the temple.
"Now then, I'm going to assume you'll need a place to stay. There are plenty of rooms available, and all you need to do is take a flight of stairs to the left. I'm also going to assume you'll want to visit your friend, and he'll be on this floor somewhere to the right of it. I'd wait till tomorrow for that though."

"I dont really know how visiting with me will help with Ishimaru`s problem."She admitted, "I dont know anything about being the Avatar. I wish I knew what to do..."
Zhang overheard the part about the rooms and decided to go scope them out. He walked past them and headed up the stairs.

"See you later Zhang" Garun shouted as Zhang went upstairs. "Dont take the good room" He added with a smile. "Avani Im sure with time you will learn what to do as the avatar. And Im sure tomorow when we go seee Ishimaru he will be glad to see you" He added before patting her on the back.

"Im the reason he got hurt, he probably doesnt want to see me again."she said softly, "But I`ll go see him anyways, just to make sure hes okay at the very least."
Zhang waved to them as he headed up the stairs, he smiled too. They were still pretty young but he saw that something was defenitly happening between the two.

"Your not the reason he got hurt. He got hurt because he wanted to make sure we got away safely. Thats probably the bravest thing he has ever done so dont take it away from him saying it was your fault" Garun said to her with a smile about the bravest thing part. "When you see him tomorow go in with a smile and dont say it was your fault. He needs big smiles" Garun said putting on a smile.

"Yeah, your probably right."she replied as Yasuo casually walked in. The large cat rubbed up against Garun as he let out a purr like noise. Avani giggled.

Garun looked down and stroked the large cat. "Now Yasuo I have some strict rules. No trying to eat any of the bisons. And no getting on my bed because I know from past experience that cats claw when on beds" Garun said jokingly.

Yasuo hissed loudly and rammed into him so he might knock him over. Avani snagged his tail and he looked back at her with big kitten eyes.
"Yas, dont be mean now."she told him, "He couldnt even attack a bison without getting killed. So that wont be a problem."
