After being suited up into his DATS uniform Richard and Patamon had headed off into the park. It seemed the police had cleared the place out, but the damage was still obvious.There were knives everywhere, and trees were cut to pieces. It was a mess, that was for sure.
"This is agent Richard and Patamon reporting in. The area is cleared of civilians, but it looks like the place is heavily damaged. I'll report in when the situation updates." Richard said into his DATS cellphone.
"Well Patamon, we just got to wait for backup and we can start looking for the Digimon responsible."

Marisa hurried up, wearing her DATS uniform. Pen followed behind, puffing a little. "Sorry I'm late." Marisa said. "I couldn't find my uniform." Then she looked around. "Where's the digimon?"

Richard looked up when Marisa and her partner arrived, and he just simply shrugged his shoulders.
"I have no clue where the Digimon is. I arrived here with the place torn to pieces, and thats all I know. The police did say that witnesses reported seeing some weird wolf looking thing so I guess we should keep an eye out for..."
Before finishing off his sentence a flurry of blades were sent flying towards the two humans. Richard quickly grabbed Patamon and ran, pulling out his Digivice to try and see what the Digimon was.
"The Digivice says thats its, uh, Sangloupmon." Richard said as the demon beast Digimon arrived in front of them.

Marisa got up from the ground where she had dodged. "Well...at least it it's only a Champion." She said, checking out her digivice. "Ok, Pen, get him!"
Penguinmon nodded and said "For you, anything!" He charged towards Sangloupmon and launched his Endless Slap.

Sangloupmon disappeared into a cloud of data, only to reappear on a tree branch nearby.
"Great, the Digimon can pull a Houdini act on us. Alright Patamon, lets see if we can get him." Richard said as his partner, trembling, sucked in a massive breath of air before launching it in a massive bullet of air with the cry "Boom Bubble" added in. The rogue Digimon, however, blew it off as if it was nothing, and launched into a mass of sharp knives thrown towards the group.
"Patamon, lets get a move on." Richard said, grabbing his partner before running behind a tree for cover.

Pen was surprisingly agile for a flightless bird and managed to dodge the knives, while continuing forward towards the tree. Marisa had taken cover behind another tree and called "Pen, just like we practiced!"
Pen nodded and called out "Ice Prism!", sending a wave of icicles towards Sangloupmon.

Sangloupmon watched as the wave of icicles approached him, waiting for the right time to dodge them. Soon he started running straight towards him before jumping right over them. However, he had failed to consider the trail of ice that was on the other side, and soon he was slipping and sliding.
"Alright Patamon, hit him with a Boom Bubble." Richard said as Patamon, a bit more confident since Sangloupmon couldn't do anything, responded with the bullet of air. While it didn't hurt Sangloupmon much, it did send him knocking into a nearby tree, with help from the ice of course.

Marisa stepped out from behind the tree and yelled "Ok, while he's off balance, Pen! Endless Slap!"
Pen charged forward, launching his primary attack at the enemy digimon.

Sangloupmon worked to try and regain balance, but he was to slow to do so before Pen's attack made contact. Soon Sangloupmon was beaten up badly, but the Champion Digimon was still standing. The Digimon soon broke into data, but a Digitama egg never appeared.
"Uh, thats' not good, is it?" Richard said. Patamon looked around to try and see what was going on, noticing something was odd about Pen's shadow. It was a bit mishapen and odd looking, but the cause for that soon became clear when Sangloupmon appeared from out of it in an attempt to attack him.
"Boom Bubble."
Patamon launched a blast of air to distract Sangloupmon, giving Pen time to get out of the way.

Pen dived out of the way, but fumbled his landing and fell. Marisa looked worried and yelled "Pen! Up! He's coming!"
Pen struggled to his feet, turning and launching another ice prism.

At such a close range there wasn't really much time for Sangloupmon to doge, and so he got a face full of Pen's Ice Prism attack. At such a close range, and with him already being so weakened from the battle at this point, it was just enough to knock Sangloupmon down to the ground before he burst into a cloud of data. This data, however, didn't reappear anywhere else but instead reformed into an egg.
"So, uh, I guess that means that we've beaten him then? What were we supposed to do now?" Richard said, hand on his chin as he pondered his thoughts. "That's right, we got to take the egg back to DATS headquarters. Would you like the honor since Pen there gave the final blow?"

Marisa nodded. She walked over and picked up the egg. "Lead the way."
