Description: As a native of the Earth Kingdom, Ayumu has black hair. Most of the time she has it let down, where it reaches to just below her shoulders. Occasionally she’ll wear it up, but she prefers to have it down. Physically, being of the upper class has made her quite thin and sleek compared to other Earth Kingdom citizens. It has also given her a lighter skin color than most as well. Her eyes are green in color.
Being of the upper class, Ayumu is usually forced to wear more formal clothing than most Earth Kingdom citizens do. Her first layer of clothing is a simple light yellow shirt and skirt. Next is a rather long green robe, and on top of that is a dark green dress tunic. The last part is usually used for dressier occasions, but just about anytime within the palace she will be wearing the green robe. She also wears a pair of ornate brown shoes
However, unknown to her father, Ayumu has a second pair of clothing she uses when sneaking out of the palace. It consists of a green medium-length sleeved shirt and some loose fitting green pants. Above that is a brown tunic that extends to just above her knees with a belt at her waist. Finally, she wears a pair of sandals with the outfit.
Personality: Growing up in the noble classes of Omashu, Ayumu has learned to be a quiet and patient person when needed. She tends to be very polite as well. When not under the restrictions of etiquette, she is much more tomboyish, preferring to be outside and about instead of inside. She is also a more aggressive person, but admittedly a more subtle kind through such actions as sarcasm. However, that is only when she has to deal with people she doesn’t like. With her friends, she is energetic and a bit bubbly,
History: Ayumu is the daughter of the King of Omashu, and is currently the only daughter. She grew up, as any noble would have, being educated by the finest tutors available, learning both Earthbending and etiquette. Life within the palace was safe and comfortable, with everything she asked for gotten for her. Her father and mother, while distracted by the events that had begun to occur in the Earth Kingdom, loved her.
One day her father decided to take her on a tour of Omashu, taking her through both the upper districts were the nobility and upper class lived as well as the lower classes. This was her first time seeing these people, and she was fascinated by them. However, she didn’t get to have much time around the lower class as her father had to rush to inspect the troops that were being drafted for the war. While he didn’t want to bring her along, she insisted so much he relented. She was saddened to hear that all the greatest Earthbenders of Omashu, including her teacher, had been drafted.
As time went on, she found that she had a gift for Earthbending, even without the assistance of a teacher. She also began to sneak out of the palace whenever she got the chance, mingling among the common people of the city. It was much more liberating than the palace, and she enjoyed the freedom from the rules of tact and etiquette that were enforced in the palace. Her antics gave her a bit of a reputation amongst some of the lower class, though through the name ‘Kumiko’ that she created.
In the present, she is still keeping the double life. However, now that war between the Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom seems inevitable, she wishes to take part in it. However, unlike her lower class antics, she was unable to hide her Earthbending skills. Because of this, her father tries his best to hide her abilities to prevent drafting, and the attraction of anyone who may wish to use her skills.
