When Toshiro started to violently cough, Akane ran right over to him. She put her hand on his back to help steady him as he coughed up. She would have suggested she helped get the water out, if he hadn't started getting better.
"Are you alright Toshiro? What happened?"
She already knew that he must have swallowed the water or something and had it gone down the wrong throat, but something that violent couldn't have just been a simple side effect of learning the technique. Something must have made him loose concentration and therefore control of the technique.

Toshiro coughed again and whipped the water off of his face. He looked at her only to notice that she was touching him again. The genin quickly cleared his throat and tired to reply but no words came out though. His body began to shake again and when he tried to free himself he tripped and went face first into the ground. Toshiro was in a daze and didnt bother getting up right then. He felt a little bit of blood trickle out of his nose, but that was about the only major damage other than a bruise or two.

Akane grabbed ahold of Toshiro and pulled him up, dusting off his clothes just like a mom would to a little kid.
"Are you sure you're okay Toshiro?" She asked before she noticed the bleeding nose and bruises. It wasn't anything major, but a lot more thant she thought would happen from a smple fall. She didn't have anything on her to clean it up, so she just told him to pinch his nose to stop the bleeding.
"Now I'm wishing we had someone with some medical-nin experience on here. Must remind myself to start packing some first-aid stuff. Anyway Toshiro, are you sure you're okay? Because collapsing is something to be concerned about."

Toshiro did as Akane told him to. Once he was up on his feet he pinched the top of his nose so it would stop bleeding, and it soon did. He felt really foolish for falling in front of her but it was better than then him starting to throw up or something.
"Yeah. I tripped over my own feet, no need to worry about me. I`m fine now." He told her, he whipped the blood off of his face and went back to the technique. By now he was about half way there. And if he wanted to finish the technique soon he had to continue working on it. Toshiro cleared his throat again before focusing on the chakra mass building in his stomach, which oddly was starting to not bug him much anymore. Toshiro opened up his mouth and let the larger blast of water flow freely from his mouth.
"Do you... uuhh want to go hang out somewhere or something after this? Take a little break from training for awhile."

Toshiro:23/30
Akane looked at him suspiciously, but then decided to just back off. She'd take his word on it for now. Instead, she just watched him practice his technique, noticing he seemed to be adjusting to the water in his stomach part. Now he just had to keep up a constant pace of water spewing.
She was a bit shocked when he asked if she wanted to go anywhere after they were done. He hadn't ever been so straightfoward or bold about that sort of thing. And while she did want to go looking at some new outfits, how could she say no to such a display.
"Uhm, sure thing Toshiro. Let's just finish this up and we'll head out. Do you have anywhere in mind?"

"Anywhere you would like to go, I dont mind." Toshiro replied, as he started to focus again, now he found himself being able to do more than one thing while focusing since the feeling was easier and much more natural feeling. He held in the water for a moment, letting it build up. Then Toshiro opened up his mouth and let it all spew out in a couple of good sized wave like blasts.
Right after that he began to work on the technique yet again, after learning the jutsu he was done learning jutsu for the day. Two was good enough for him. It didnt take very long at all to focus the chakra to his stomach then he just let it lose, more waves of water came this time than before.
"Do you have a place you`d like to go to?"

"No, not really. I haven't had much time for sight seeing since I've been here. Usually my times spent training or on missions. The hotspring the other day was probably the free time I've gotten to enjoy in awhile. Probably why they made me go." She said as she leaned against a tree to watch Toshiro finish the technique.
"I had thought of going shopping, but I believe that you don't want to do that. We could go get something to eat if you want."

"Shopping? I dont mind at all, I probably wont do much but I`ll tag along. You`ve probably got stuff to do though... if its going to get in the way of your plans then dont let me bug you. I`ll just... uhh go home and shower to get all of this nasty water off of me."
Toshiro took a deep breath before he decided to try out the technique again. He was starting to get a really gross flavor in his mouth, and if they did go shopping he might invest a little bit of money on some gum or a couple of breath mints. The flavor didnt really help the gag reflexes at all. He did his best to get past the bitter flavor. The next couple of waves of water cleaned out his mouth a little bit.
'almost there.... I bet one more try will probably do it. Then again I`m always wrong, ugh... I wish I had more confidence. Maybe Mai will lend me some of hers, she seems like she could hand it out to people like me. Nobody likes her though... how can she stay so upbeat all of the time?'
Toshiro realized that he had gone off into his head a little too much, he zoomed back into the present and went back to his jutsu at hand. Deciding to give it one last shot before he wrapped up the lesson, Toshiro focused especially hard on this last attempt. He wanted to prefect it as soon as he could, but he didnt want to hold up Akane either. Once he felt like there was enough water based chakra to work with he let it all flow out in a raging blast of waves.

"No, if we're going to go out somewhere I'd want to do it somewhere we'd both enjoy. Heck, I don't even like shopping that much." Akane replied when Toshiro said he'd be fine shopping. Sure, the statement sounded a bit odd, but she meant it. Shopping was not her idea of fun, and she wasn't going to drag Toshiro around doing it.
When it looked like Toshiro had succeded with learning the technique, she gave him a smile and a thumbs up. She thought about a hug, but by this point there was just too much awkwardness occurring between them for that to be a good idea.

Toshiro was glad that he had finally finished the jutsu. He squeezed out the parts of his shirt that he could without actually taking his shirt off in attempt to get a little bit of the water off him. But he failed pretty badly, so Toshiro gave up on it. He wouldnt take his shirt off though, still not wanting to make the situation awkward.
"Do you have any places that you`d want to go see in Konoha?"

"Why don't we get somewhere sunny so you can dry out some, unless you want to stop by the Uchiha compound and change." Akane replied as he noticed him messing with his wet shirt. She'd rather have him just take it off if it really bothered him, but she knew he wouldn't because she was around. Then again, even she would agree it would be awkward for the both of them.

Toshiro shrugged it didnt really matter to him much. He could deal with it if he had to, but he wouldnt mind getting a change of dry clothes either. Maybe if he had a little bit of muscle he wouldnt have been so afraid to take off his shirt, Toshiro knew he wasnt much to look at. All of the girls he knew liked to see eye candy, and he was pretty much the opposite (thats what he thinks at least).

"Okay then. Why don't we go to the, uhm, Hokage Monument. I think they're working on one for Naruto." Akane replied. She planned on stopping by somewhere and buying that new outfit she had thought off. Then at the monument she would surprise Toshiro with it. The look on his face would probably be priceless. "So then, I guess I'll see you later then." Akane replied as she started to walk off. ((Since Toshiro's about to fight in the exam, this and the thread about their 'date' are going to be considered in the past, alright  )). |
