Akane was rather surprised that she had made it to the rank of Chuunin considering her match had ended by falling right on top of Mai. Still, she was no longer a genin, but a full fledged ninja. There were tougher missions ahead, tougher ninja to fight, and she needed to work hard at improving her skills. That, and her last fight showed that she was in desperate need to learn some less chakra-heavy techniques. For that reason, she called up Douke to come and assist in training. It sounded strange, but the kid knew a lot of low-level chakra techniques that could prove useful.
"Aih, Akane-chan, are you read to learn from the master!" Douke said, his tone playfully serious. Akane responded with an eye roll before 'bowing' to him.
"Yes Douke sensei, teach me all that you know." She said, trying hard to not grin at the situation.
"Okay then, let's start off with Gentle Breeze..." Douke looked over at Akane, who gave him a dull look.
"I thought you wanted to learn Dance of the Wind style Akane-chan?" Douke said. Akane shook her head.
"I didn't want to learn the style, though I could. I wanted to adopt it's techniques into my own. Though learning your style might help out since wind does beat lighting. But for now, I want to just adopt it into my water techniques."
"Ah, but I wanted to teach you Dance of the Wind style..." Douke said, tearing up a little bit before going back to his usual happy self.
"Well then, the main thing about Dance of the Wind is that you aren't simply controlling the element, your moving with it. Instead of just throwing the air at the enemy, I'm taking the air that already exists and helping it along. You have to take advantage of the elements natural properties."
Akane..was..stunned. For a guy who wore a mask and acted like a three year old at times, Douke could sometimes be deep. She had to give the guy some respect in the future. But for now, technique learning time. She could get he was saying, about not simply forcing the technique out but letting it move along with you, and you with it. Or something like that.
"So, what I'm trying to do is something like this?".
Earlier she had created some water using her Large Projectile technique, and she moved her to the puddle. Concentrating her chakra on the water, she slowly but gently pulled it out, using her chakra to provide the support. She started to turn her body along with it, instead of standing still and just raising it up. At the moment she imagined the water as a stream, and her as a rock in the middle of it. The rock 'moved' the water by making it flow around it. And if she was right, and Douke wasn't just making all that up, the water would be easy to move.

Akane tried to hold it up, but eventually her chakra broke, and it all fell onto the ground. She started to try and get more from the puddle, but Douke grabbed her wrist.
"Don't waste the puddle water. Try and get some of the water you dropped out of the ground."
"But, the ground has probably absorbed..."
"DO IT" Douke replied angrily, or at least what could be considered anger for him. His tone sounded more like he was faking it, and lacked the complete inflection of hate that a normally angry voice always had.
"Alright, alright, I'll get it out of the ground." Akane replied as she started to focus her chakra on the water in the ground. This was harder than the pond, and she had to spread her chakra much farther than when she had the puddle water. Each little pocket of water had to have it's own chakra source and concentration, so she had to stop when she had found only half of the water. Next, she started to slowly turn herself, using the chakra connection between her and the water to slowly pull it out of the ground. Eventually one or two pockets came up, but as she turned, more and more came until eventually she had a nice blob of it.
"Alright, now then, move it around. Have some fun with it and try it out." Douke said, and Akane followed.
First, she slowly moved the water around her in a simple circle, but as she felt more comfortable moving with it, she started to move her hands around in a figure eight motion to make the water follow it. Soon she started to spin again, moving her arms up and down to create a rhythmic pattern of 'waves' with the water. She decided to end it by bringing the water up above her head, but there she lost control, and found herself drenched in water. Douke laughed in the background.

Akane
Douke:
As Douke laughed, Akane streamed the water of her and then sent it straight at him. Soon she was as dry as a desert, and he was soaked to the bone. He just continued to laugh for a few more seconds before finally speaking.
"Very good, I think you got it. Now then, I think you can do an improved version of what you just did to me to turn the technique into an offensive one. Meanwhile, I want to try and learn a technique myself, so mind a quick sparring match with me Akane-chan?" He asked.
"Works for me, but I won't go easy on you." She said as she began to draw water from the puddle, making sure to keep it moving around her so she could have quick and easy access to it.
"Neither will I, so let's get this started." Douke responded, taking an extra deep breath at the end of the sentence. Akane expected him to be ready to yell, but something else was going on inside him. At the moment, he was using his chakra to increaes the pressure inside his lungs, using the air he sucked in as a base. When he blew out, that increased pressure inside his lungs would, when finding the lower pressure outside, create a massive blast of wind to blow out of his mouth.
So when he finally opened his mouth, Akane found herself met with a rather gentle breeze. She just looked at him before finally deciding to strike. Turning around, she gently moved her arms in a twirl before rapidly pointing one at Toshiro. The water followed it's movements, but instead of whipping out at him like before, this time it just splatterd as soon as it left her control.
"We suck, don't we Akane?" Douke responded as both techniques failed.

Akane and Douke quickly got back into their stances. Douke's stance was similar to the Gen tle Fist's style, with one hand forward, one back, and feet apart. Akane stood in on spot, with her feet a part a little bit. Botho of them began their respective techniques. ut Akane bent down a little to get close to the water, and then slowly turned around as she stood up. Soon she had a small stream of water around, which she then began to manipulate around her. Eventually it was halfway across her back, and that was when she began to add extra chakra to it. This would strengthen the water, but to get any meaningful range, she would have to make sure that she retained a connection between her and the water.
Meanwhile, Douke sucked in another deep breath, and then began to focus his chakra in his lungs. He used the chakra to force the air into a small and smaller space, as well as to keep the current going. This way pressure was maximized within his lungs, and therefore the blast would work at a peak level.
With both of their techniques ready, they fired them off. Akane's was done using a quick flick of the wrist, like she was throwing a ball. However, she added an extending of her arm to it, keeping the distance between her and the water at a minimal to get a maximum range. She could feel the chakra leave her arm through the water and towards Douke.
Douke, on the other hand, had his cheeks puffed out with excess air, and quickly let it all go in a massive burst of wind. It splattered Akane's water, but that was all it would do. Something was missing that allowed him to keep it up and focused. Right now, a fan would work better than his breath.

"Alright then, let's give this another try Douke." Akane replied as she brought more water out from the puddle and ground. Just like before, she twirled a little bit to get a bit of momentum and control over the water. When she was halfway done with the turn, she started adding the chakra to the water she would need for it to work. When the turn started to bring her back towards Douke, her left arm quickly snapped outwards and towards Douke. She made sure to concentrate her chakra on the water to not only strengthen it, but so that its' form would keep on the way to the masked ninja. She focused her chakra on circulating around the outside of the water stream.
However, she also needed to practice on bringing it back to herself, so she didn't let it go all the way towards Douke. Instead, she whipped back her left arm, which brought the water back to her alright. But just like before, this ended up with her drenched.
"Don't worry Akane-chan, I'll help."
Douke took in a deep breath, and began to use his chakra to compress the air. As the air compressed, he could feel his lungs strain a little, but he was getting used to it by this point. Eventually he felt the point when the pressure inside of his lungs was getting greater than the pressure outside, and he puffed out his cheeks. He then opened his mouth to blow, and a massive blast hit Akane. On the one hand, she was dry now, but at the same time it looked as if she was going to kill Douke.
"Akane-chan isn't going to kill Douke-san, right?"

The two of them decided to take a break after that round of techniques. They didn't want to waste all their chakra right off the back, and they needed to let their minds rot as well. Too much time spent focusing was probably a bad thing and overstressed the mind. Akane was sitting in the shade underneath a tree, while Douke was up in a branch.
"So then, any other techniques you want to make for your water jutsu Akane-chan?" Douke asked, wondering how much longer the girl was going to train.
"Yeah, but they start going off course from your air-techniques. So if you have to be somewhere, feel free to leave."
No sooner did she say that than he jumped out of ther branch, made a quick bow goodbye, and ran off muttering something about ramen. She laughed a little, thoug his behaviour made the implication she wasn't fun to be around.
"Well, guess I better get to work. Mai's probably not stopping her training, so neither should I. Now what else can I do?"
Akane molded her chakra and began to pull out more water from the ground. This time, she was going to see if she could increase the strength of the water through compression. Like Douke's air breath, the water's power would be increased by compressing it, and therefore increasing it's pressure. Theoretically, this higher pressure would make the water capable of cutting objects.
She started off by taking the water and spreading it in a very large blob. This was harder to keep up than the normal streams she was used to, but she'd have to start off with by working to make it into that size. She then focused her chakra onto the top and bottom of the blob to create a base and top to use to press the water. She also had a little on the side to keep it all from coming out.
Once she was sure it wouldn't she started to press her hands together. Since her hands were connected to the water and chakra, any force the chakra met she'd have to conquer. And while at first there was no resistance, it quickly became clear she was going to need to have a lot of power to press her hands together. Slowly they came closer, but it was a whole lot of work to do so. She could feel her arms becoming sore from the strain she was using.
Eventually the bubble literall burst. The water pressure was getting to great for the chakra bubble, and it splattered out in a tremondous burst of water that, once again, drenched her.
"At this rate I might just have to live underwater considering how often I'm drenched in it."

This time around, she decided to have a target to help focus her aim, and to not use as much water for the technique. Streaming the water from the puddle, she formed it into a smaller-sized blob in front of her and began to create the bubble of chakra again until she was satisfied it wouldn't burst. And then she began to squish it.
Like before, it was easy at first, but it didn't take long before she met with resistance. For some reason, though, the resistance wasn't as bad. She was using less water, which helped, and she had spread it out some more as well so, but it still seemed easier than she thought it would. Maybe all this training was helping her physical strength as well? Whatever the cause, it didn't take much longer before she compressed it to a point she couldn't press it anymore. She kept the water in place so she could get a good look at it.
The water had in fact taken the shape of a blade, with an edge that was thin but sharp. It didn't look sharp enough to be able to cut really tough objects, but for the purpose of a battle it would do. With the water formed into a sharp blade, it was time to see if she could actually control it. Like she did for the whip, she turned herself a little, and then whipped back into place with her arm extending out as she did so. The water shot across the field towards the tree that she had chosen as a target. While she missed hitting dead center, the splinters of bark that shot forth from it was a good sign that she had hit. Still, since she was aiming for the center, she realized she needed to work on controlling some more.
