Sanji walked towards the other guy that had just cut Jonathan, took his shoe back, and continued to walk right by him back into the bar. A couple of seconds later he walked back out with his bag of ingrediants in hand, and shoe back on his foot. "Well, now that you're back in the fight, he's your problem. He should have gotten the basic idea by now." With that Sanji began to walk away, throwing a casual "see-ya" over his shoulder.
(Yeah, it's a bit bland but it should work. Sanji hasn't left the area and is still stoppable. Most characters would get angry at having themselves forced back into a fight like that.)

Magnus didn't look over at the guy, instead keeping an eye on the marine in case of a counterattack. Still, he yelled over to the chef as he walked away.
"Walking away from the battle when its not even over without good reason? That seems a bit rude and cowardly to me. Apparently your mostly talk.I can't believe I was thinking of asking you to be on my pirate crew."

Jonathan was a bit agitated by this. Well at least the polite on didn't leave... I don't need my criminals walking away on me.
Jonathan's shoulder stopped hurting some, so he put his hammer away. He then pulled his flint lock out again and began to reload it. Instead of just one bullet he added a second one. He used this trick to take down the pirate leader that was responsible for the death of his family. Jonathan lifted his gun up and aimed in on Sanji.
This shot will be easy...
He took a deep breath let out some then held the rest. Then he squeezed the trigger. Both bullets were fired perfectly.

(Jonathan is going to hate this post...)
When Jonathan's shot rang out, Sanji was ready, expecting at least one more attack on him. So, he quickly jumped to the side to avoid the bullet, but wasn't expecting there to be two. He got out of the way of one, while the other hit him close to his left shoulder. That's twice that he's shot me... I guess it was a bit careless to walk away without looking like that, but then I was expecting the other guy to fight. Wincing as pain shot through his side and shoulder, Sanji calmly walked to the side of the road and set his bag down before turning to face the two.
Sanji looked from one to the other than sighed, realeasing a good lungful of smoke as he did. "I guess you won't learn you're lesson until you're lying on the ground unconcious... and here I was thinking you were sensible enough to know when you were beat," he said, more to himself then anything, while looking at the marine. Then, he turned to face the other man.
"Walking away without a good reason? Were you even watching the fight? I've only been hit twice, once while an innocent person was in the way, and once while my back was turned. All I was doing was teaching him some table manners, and by that point most people would have gotten the message. As for me being mostly talk, I have seen you do anything besides lean against a counter. It's true that I'm looking for a pirate crew to join, but why would I, a humble cook, join a pirate who watches someone else fight his battles? Not very good terms to join up with someone, now is it?"

(Hmm... Didn’t expect that...)
Jonathan reloaded again, but decided to put his flint lock away. He got tired of this 2 vs. 1 thing.
If this keeps up I'm going to end up getting killed. I need to get past these 2, and get to the Naval base, or things are going to get out of hand.
Jonathan took off running straight towards the Naval base. He was hoping that the other 2 would think that he was just running away.

Magnus listened to what the cook had to say, and just smirked.
"Hmm, you know what, you have a point. I haven't done to much have I?Well then, since the marine over there is making a run for it, why don't we have a little spar then. If I win you join my crew, and if you win..make up something for that. Better yet, why don't we have a race. First person to get the marine wins. Which contest do you want?"
As Magnus waited for a response he had already begun shifting into his man/hawk hyprid form. It would be a big advantage for him in either challenge, especially out in the open.

Sanji just sighed as the marine ran from the area. Well... can't say I was expecting much from some who would shoot with innocent people in the way. Sanji turned to face Magnus, and put his hands in his pockets. "Hm... Sorry, I'm going to have to decline. I'm not one to go around fighting a pointless battle. If he wants to run, I'm not going after him, I was about to leave myself. Plus, I have no reason to fight you, sparring or not. My style of fighting isn't one that allows for holding back."

Jonathan was still running to the Naval base. He was trying to call in reinforcements to aid him. Not only will this aid him in battle, but if the two pirates tried to sail away Jonathan and possibly a couple other Marine ships would hunt them down.
He was about 3/4ths there.
After about 5 minutes he finally reached the Naval base. He went in and gathered up about 10 PFC's with a bit of flint lock training, but mostly cutlass training. Then the unit started heading back to were the 2 pirates were.
They are now just in site of the pirates. "That's them maggots, arrest them! I don't care if you kill them or capture them, just get them and I'll promote you all to Corporal!" Jonathan ordered to the PFC's. He is an officer after all. After Jonathan gave the order, the entire unit gave a huge roaring yell as they were in a full frontal assault at the pirates.

Magnus was about to head towards his ship, his shifting reversed, when all of a sudden he heard a huge roar. He turned around to see what the commotion was, and was pleasantly surprised so see a flood of marines heading towards him. He yelled over to the chef.
"Why, isn't that something. That marine couldn't beat you by himself and decided to send the grunts to do his work. However, you seem busy so I'll take care of them."
Magnus shifted into the man/hawk hybrid and lifted himself into the air to count the number of people. It was a nice amount, but still he could probably handle it. Quickly getting back down (that shot from earlier made his left wing hurt when he was in the air), he pulled out his cutlass.
"So then, who wants to go first?"

When the wave of marine showed up roaring, Sanji gave out a sigh and set his bag down. This guy doesn't learn. What goods is a bunch of grunts going to do him? Taking a couple of steps forward, Sanji glanced over at Magnus. "Seems you misunderstood me. I don't like fighting a pointless battle, but if someone else is going to attack me, things are a little different. I have no intention of being captured here today. Besides, you're taking to long."
With a brief dash towards the group (whom I would assume have at least slowed at seeing Magnus's transformation (don't forget, Devil Fruits are rare, much more so outside of the Grand Line)) Sanji jumped in the air and did a quick half flip. Instead of landing on the ground, he landed in a handstand on one of the unfortunate marine's head. "You lot picked the wrong boss to listen to today. Party Table Kick Course!" Sanji started to spin rapidly, kicking at the marines surronding the one he was one. When he was done, he landed next to the middle one, and delivered a swift kick to his stomach. "Flanchet." Glancing back at Magnus Sanji gave a smirk. "What, you aren't done yet?"
(No, this won't get rid of all of them, but should hit a decent amount.)
-Flanchet (Stomach): A simple kick to the opponent's stomach.
-Party Table Kick Course: An attack for fighting against large groups, Sanji jumps into the air and lands on the head of one of the opponents in a hand stand. He then spins around rapidly to deliver a savage kick to the face of anyone within range.

About 5 of the marines were knocked out by Sanji's kicks. The marine’s reaction to the transformation of Magnus made them hesitate a bit, but quickly snapped out of it, after Sanji's attacks. Jonathan quickly dashed in with his cutlass drawn in his right hand along with his flint lock out in his left. He fired the shot at Magnus then lunged at Sanji with his sword.
3 marines attacked Magnus will the other 2 tried to help Jonathan with Sanji.

As the three marines headed towards Magnus he jumped into the air over them slashed their backs as he landed. The advantage of this was he also got to avoid the shot from Jonathan. Looking over at the chef, and the rest of the marines, Magnus flew towards them with his cutlass.
"Sorry for being late, but shifting my species tends to take a little time." He smirked towards the chef as he made his way through the marines.

The 3 marines that Magnus slashed became incapacitated, but when he lunged at the others he only knocked out one other marine.
(That makes just me and a recruit...)
Jonathan then gave the recruit one of his flint locks. "Find a defensive spot and start sniping!" The recruit took the weapon then ran into a 2 story building and began to shoot at the pirates.
Hmm... Should of gathered up corporals...
Jonathan did a horizontal slash at Magnus, he also followed up with a thrust.

Seeing that Magnus was fighting Jonathan, Sanji looked around for the other marine. No sense in jumping in on that fight. Now where did that one get too? Then a bullet grazed Sanji's shoulder. Grabbing his shoulder, Sanji looked in the direction the shot had come from. Up there eh... Alright, I guess I deal with that one. Sanji dashed to the side of the road, and grabbed a barrel. Taking aim, he gave a strong kick to the bottom of it, launching it in the marine's direction, meant for the sole purpose of getting eye's off of Sanji. By the time that the barrel hit the side of the building, Sanji had vanished from the spot he was standing in.

(Dang Raz... You were shot 3 times and still moving at full speed? What, do you have a bullet proof vest or something? LOL)
The recruit about soiled his pants from the barrel coming at him, but luckily it just hit the wall. He then noticed that Sanji vanished. The marine quickly got away from the window and ran to a corner of the room. He then kicked a table over for cover. He then faced the stairs and took aim, just in case the pirate was coming up to do a surprise attack.
