Akane was waiting outside the main village gate for the team that would be escorting her to the Hidden Sand Village. She was standing there looking out at the woods, jumping at every small noise. Obviously she was scared or worried about something, so when Hojo appeared she almost fainted.
"Calm down there Akane, I'm Mitamoto Hojo, Jounin ranked shinobi of the Village Hidden in the Leaves. I'm the guy in charge of the team you requested. My students should be here within a half hour."
"Oh, ok then." The girl moved a little ways off, though she seemed a little bit more calm.
She seems to be a jumpy little girl. I wonder what has her so scared?

Mai leapt from building to building then landed right infront of the two. She finished zipping up her other sandal and slipped on her half fingered gloves. She saluted the girl they where to escort.
"Have no fear, Mai Uchiha is here to save the day!"She smiled, but stopped as she scratched her chin,"Well if anything should go wrong, then yeah Ill save you, because Imm going to be the next hokage!."
Now that she had established herself, she looked over her supplies. Knuckle knives, kunai, shuriken.

Hino and Garun landed a couple of seconds. "We are the friends of the soon to be hokage" Garun said as he touched th floor. Hino gave Garun a weird look before looking at the girl. "Im Hino Hyuuga and this is Garun. "

Well, they seem to be an excited little group of genin, which is understandable. I'd be excited to if this was my first real mission. But by the time this is over they'll learn that missions aren't all they're cracked up to be
"Well, now that my team here has introducded themselves, I believe it's time you introduced yourself to them Akane."
The girl had been busy looking at the path in front them, though when she heard the sounds of the others landing she had looked back. Turning around, she gave a small bow before speaking just barely above a whisper.
"My name is Yokoyama Akane, and I'd like to thank you for escorting me." Standing back up she waited to see what would happen next.
"Don't worry about it, it's our job. Now then, lets get a move on. It's a trip to the Hidden Sand Village, and we aren't going to get anywhere just standing here."

"Hi " Garun said. "Which way then" Garun said as Hino just looked the girl over. What would the other village want that girl for Hino thought as he looked

Mai seemed to be in a good mood, she had a big confident smile on her face. She couldnt help but walk ahead and look around. Although something about this girl just didnt right, but then again Mai didnt even know this girl so all she could know the two were a lot alike. She turned on one foot and walked backwards.
"The sand isnt too far away, how come ya needed an escort?"

"We just stay on this road Garun and we'll eventually reach the border of the Wind country." With everyone ready to go, Hojo and Akane started walking forward. Hojo remained in the center of the group so he could respond to any danger anywhere. He didn't care if Mai was walking in front or not.
Meanwhile Akane began looking less nervous, though if one looked closely they could see her eyes darting around everywhere.
"Well Mai, I just wanted protection." Akane whispered in reply to Mai's question.

Mai nodded in response, but didnt really understand. She looked about the same age as the team, so what would she need an escort for? Its not like she had anything to hide, or anybody was after her.
"You can count on me!"the Uchiha smiled, but felt she should ask,"Arent you a shinobi?"

"Mai, stop nagging our friend here about.." Hojo started to say, but Akane interupted him.
"It's perfectly alright. No, I'm not technically a shinobi, but I know a few jutsu that I occassionally use. I rather not use them though. I'm not that good."
Hojo knew what Mai was thinking, and he agreed. There was something about this girl that wasn't making sense. She knew some jutsu, the distance wasn't far, so why was she wanting protection?

"Why wouldnt you want to..."Something stopped her, she thought she heard something, "... practice your... jutsu....?"
Mai seemed a little distracted by the noise, but didnt say anything about it.

"I just don't want to okay!" Akane was starting sound upset, so Hojo whispered to Mai to stop with the questions.
As for the noise, Mai didn't have to say anthing for Hojo to notice she had noticed something. His hand moved to rest on his kunai knives in case something happened. It was probably nothing, but it wasn't worth the risk to just ignore it.

The Uchiha still seemed a bit on edge, her eyes kept looking around.

"It's okay Mai, just don't do it again." Akane said as she looked down at the ground. She noticed that Mai and Hojo were on edge, so she started to feel a little nervous as well.
"We're still in the Fire Country Mai. I'm surprised you feel lost though. I thought Uchihas were pretty well traveled, being such an important family and all in Konoha."

Mai turned her head and crossed her arms, "Dad doesnt let me out much..."she muttered. The Uchiha felt the strange presence seeming to fade.
(I didnt think about this until now, but Sasuke and Madara were the only Uchiha left, so does that mean Mai is closely related to one of them?)

Hojo felt like something was there, though the presensce wasn't as strong. Still, he kept one hand on the kunai just in case. Someone was following them, that was for sure. And yet there didn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary, though he kept his eyes on the woods flanking them.
