Avani didnt reply to that either, she just kept on walking through the cave. She had no idea where they were going, but she really wished that she did know. It would have made things so much easier on them, but then again a bit of mystery and adventure might be a good bonding time for them, but Ishimaru didnt seem like the type of guy to like such things.
"Well on the bright side we get a little bit of alone time to get to know eachother better."

"Well, we need to do something while looking for a way out. Is there any particular place you want to start?" Ishimaru asked, though he was paying a bit more attention to his surroundings then to her.
If he were a dog, he'd be perfect for guarding something. Sadly, as a human, he failed almost completely in the social aspects of life. If he did, he'd have probably had registered in his mind that Avani's statement meant she wanted to talk, and that such things would probably lead to some very personal things. And such issues were not his strong suit at all.
Meanwhile, if the two of them noticed, there was a subtle shift in the cave walls. They were looking less wild and more carved, meaning they were starting to reach something manmade in the caves.

When Ishimaru seemed to quickly avoid her suggestion to talk to each other she too began to watch the cave walls. She noticed that the walls seemed to look a bit different, they were much smoother looking than the other walls had been. Avani moved closer to one of them and ran a hand along the wall.
"We must be getting close to something, the walls seem a lot different than before."

"Yes, I noticed it. Makes me think that maybe there are more than just badgermoles in this place." He replied as they continued along the path the smoothed walls lined. The cave hadn't changed in pattern, so wherever they were going, the ones messing with them were wanting them to go there.
Eventually the two of them entered into a large cavern, and by the looks of it the place was a tomb. There were two stone coffins, but the thing that drew the most attention to him was the giant statue on the wall. It was of a man and a woman kissing each other.
"Well, I take that back. I don't think there are any other humans here outside of corpses. Still, wonder who these people were." Ishimaru asked with a tone that showed some slight interest in the area. He knew that if you got a big tomb like this, you had to be someone important.

Avani gazed up at the statues for awhile, they seemed oddly familiar to her. She knew that she had never seen them before, but still she felt like they had been before her eyes before. She looked over the tombs for a moment before backing away, the thought of death brought upon a strange dread in her heart. She went back to looking at the statues once again.
"They seem familiar... maybe one of my previous lives have been here before."

"Really?" Ishimaru replied as he joined her at the statues.
"Then maybe your past life would be willing to help us get out of this cave."
Ishimaru's eyes glanced over the statues, but in the corner of his eyes he saw some writing. He moved over to it and began to read, and then quickly called Avani over.
"Look at this. It's some story about a couple. Might give us some clue about the tomb."
With that, Ishimaru began to read it.
"According to this, there were two adults from feuding towns met at the top of a mountain. Although it was dangerous to meet, the loving couple found a way to continue their relationship in secret. After learning Earthbending by observing the natural skills of badgermoles they created a labyrinth which only they could navigate as a place to be together. However, one day the man did not come; he had been killed in the war between their two people. While the woman's fury was initially expressed in a display of Earthbending prowess which could have destroyed both of the warring towns, she instead declared the conflict at an end. The two villages later created a city to honor the couple's love, which eventually grows into the city of Omashu."
After finishing the story, Ishimaru stood back some and took another look at the statues. It was interesting that these two people were the world's first earthbenders. That, and that the badgermoles had decided to help them instead of torturing them like they were currently doing to him and Avani.
((I'll admit to just copy-pasting that from somewhere else. I thought Avani could be the one to notice the whole 'love is brightest in the dark' dark thing for extra awkwardness))

Avani looked at the something else that she had noticed. While she listened to Ishimaru read the story of the place she read over the same phrase several times, it seemed like such an odd thing but once the story was explained it made sense.
"Love is brightest... in the dark.." Avani glanced up at Ishimaru awkwardly then looked up at the kissing statues. It all started to make sense in her mind, between the romantic story and the statues the key to what ever was to get them out of there had to be love related.
"I think that we have to think of something loving. Maybe that will get us out of here?"

Even as someone as unaccustomed to social life as Ishimaru could see where Avani's thoughts were leading. Because of that, his face had a rather obvious blush, something that wasn't seen that much on him.
"Uh, well, uhm, what do most people consider as 'something loving'? Does a hug suffice?" He said, voice sounding kind of childish, rushed, and confused. Almost as if he was embarrassed by the situation. His eyes were glancing rapidly through the room, looking to see if there was anything that would help him now. But the only thing he could see other than Avani, was the torch that was still burning rather bright.
((I thought we could have that torch burn for a little bit before going off, revealing the real thing. That way they could talk a little bit after other methods have failed)).

Avani`s cheeks turned a little bit red when he began to rush his speech, meaning he had thought of the extreme thing that may or may not have to happen. Now she had began to like Ishimaru, even though he was incredibly monotone and boring, but she had never thought of kissing him or anything. When thinking of her family didnt work she looked back at Ishimaru when he mentioned a hug.
"I-I dont know... it might..."

"Good, good, I think I can handle a..."
Ishimaru stopped when he started to think it over some more. If they had to do something loving, wouldn't that mean they would have to be sincere in it? Sure, he liked Avani as a friend, but he wasn't interested in developing any kind of romantic relationship with her. Would that mean they were doomed to rot in this tomb till they died?
"Uhm, why don't we give it a try. I mean, it never said you had to have feelings for the person, right?"

Avani nodded her head and carefully made her way over to him, she knew that this was going to be incredibly awkward for the both of them. She felt a little disheartened when he mentioned that he had no feelings for her other than friends, but it was to be expected after all. Being careful of his crutches she very carefully hugged him but nothing seemed to happen at all, maybe what ever was going to happen needed a moment.
"Anything?"

Knowing a hug wasn't really a hug if only one person did it, Ishimaru carefully let go of his crutches and eveloped Avani in a hug. Of course, he was kind of forced to lean on her a little in order to stay standing.
"Uhm, I don't feel anything, nor do I see anything happening. I thought it might now work. I don't think it counts unless there's sincerity in the act."
Of course, if one noticed, he didn't seem to be in any rush to let go, and just stood there for a moment before eventually realizing how awkward it would probably be if he kept it up. He quickly let her go, but without his crutches, that just caused him to fall backwards onto the ground.
"I'm alright, don't worry about me." He said, rubbing his now aching back.
"So then, if the hugging didn't work, I would assume we either have to do something more loving," he blushed a little, "or try and be more sincere. I assume neither of us wants to do more than hugging, so I guess we can, well, talk and hope we get a little more sincere in our feelings. Hopefully the spirits are fine with platonic love."

Despite the fact that Ishimaru had told her that he was fine she decided to collect up his crutches and help him to his feet. She didnt want him to get hurt any more than he already was. The water bender quickly dusted him off.
"That sounds like a good plan, why dont you start off? You know quite a bit about me, but I dont know much about you."

Ishimaru took the crutches, and then moved over to the statues. The bases of it would serve as an excellent sitting place for now. Especially since he would probably have to be talking for awhile. Of course, Avani decided to start things off with a rather hard question. He never really liked to talk about himself, mostly because he didn't think he was all that important.
"Uhm, well, there's not that much too me. I was born and raised in the Air Temple. My mother died a few years back, and now I'm here with you. My life hasn't been very interesting."
Avani would probably notice the tint of sadness when his mother was mentioned, a rather big difference considering his usual tone.

Avani seated herself near Ishimaru, but gave him enough space so he wouldnt feel so uncomfortable. She listened to his few quick words, that summed up his life, then glanced down at her feet. She would have liked to have related to him about the death thing, but neither of her parents were dead nor were any of her other family members.
"Oh, well I`m terribly sorry about your mother. I`m not quite sure what I would do without mine." Avani replied, "Well I guess I`ll umm... go now. Well I was born in the Northern Water Tribe, my family was always very average until I came along. As soon as they saw that I could bend they quickly started me on lessons. I was probably the youngest of the benders at that time, nobody understood why. Then my father went hunting and Yasuo came to me. We`ve always had a really weird connection, the elders say hes my spirit guide, like Appa was to Aang. The Tribal elders held a meeting and requested my mother and father bring me to them. They had had speculations that I wasnt just any ordinary water bender, and it helped that I was born the day that Avatar Aang had died. They tested me and were correct, so as soon as I was old enough they started me on much intenser training. I practically never had any free time to play with the other kids so they started to become distant. And once my training was done, nobody wanted to play any games with me since I was too good at water bending. Blah blah blah and now I`m here."
